Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

Towards an environmentally friendly future
I would like the future of Europe to be environmentally friendly. I expect European institutions to adopt rules and policies that foster a rapid change towards climate neutrality so that future generations do not have to deal with the devastating consequences that will derive from our actions now. In an ideal future, we will no longer rely on energies that have a negative impact for the environment; on the contrary, we will utilize only green energies to power our industries. Moreover, meat will be less and less the preferred option to be consumed, and we will increasingly adopt a more vegetable-centered diet that contributes to the sustainability of our planet. We will also develop sustainable alternatives for the current means of transport that will make cars less pollutant, and the same goes for the planes. All these actions will jointly direct the world, and more specifically Europe, to a healthier and more sustainable life.
Measures must be taken to help support young people to access affordable housing in Europe, particularly young women, migrants and/or refugees and people at risk of social exclusion.
It's no secret that the younger generation has been dealt a tough hand. Throughout Europe, there is an overall lack of junior positions and opportunities for young people, yet a never-ending list of unpaid positions, difficulty to find affordable housing and being unable to leave their parents' homes until their late 20's, among other issues.
I believe it's important that within the next 20 years' an important structural change takes place to move resources towards helping young people access affordable housing. It's ridiculous to think that in Spain, someone earning above the average national wage is unable to afford an apartment, even a studio, and that people under the age of 30 have to resort to either: (i) living at home with their parents, (ii) flat sharing with 2,3 or 4 people. The situation is much worse for other groups of people, particularly women, migrants, refugees, minorities and people who at risk of social exclusion.
Someone needs to lead the way and it must happen at the EU level. This is the only way to push national and local governments to allocate resources, install rent control mechanisms and help people with one of their most basic needs. I hope that by 2040, my children or my friends' children don't have to face the same problems or struggles.
M kinds s trains, less contaminaci n.e.n (Más trenes, menos contaminación )
I imagine a pa, with a sustainable transport network that reaches all places and replaces as much as possible private veins. At the same time, cities with free spaces with fuel boxes and where the use of bicycles and cars prevails electrically powered by renewable energy sources, in order to obtain them; improving air quality and significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In general, restrict the use of fuel vehs (to be used on a case-by-case basis) and have a transport system (buses, trains, meters, ferries, etc.) that meets the needs of all citizens (living where they live), at an affordable price for anyone (with tickets and discounts for certain groups) and that can offer better conditions than private transport.
Young people, the future. (Los jovenes, el futuro.)
I would like to stress that in 2040 I was able to say that the challenges that we have set to date have met them, or at least addressed them in their greatest sense. In general, I would like to have strengthened European democracy, had an impact on combating climate change and the environment, or could strengthen our external borders in the face of security and migration.
If, however, I had to choose a subject matter, it would be necessary to strengthen the ties between the European Union and the world, because it would be possible to deal with the rest of the subjects as a whole. And personally, it is essential to boost the participation of the young Europeans, who are a more internationalised generacie that knows the current challenges and has new and innovative strategies to tackle them, sound and sustainable thinking, and the desire to strive for a better world (i.e. job opportunities, mobility, social equity, etc.).
Improved society
If we were in a better 2040, mental illnesses would be reduced and more health personal would be devoted in this aspect. They would be seen as another illness, without having to keep it as a secret. And, as it improves, better living conditions would be seen, a better education could be implemented (as students could concentrate more in it, without that much stress), work could be more efficient and better, and better relationships would be established, reducing social conflicts.
Freedom to be
Regarding 2040 I wish all European Citizens and, hopefully, every single human could happily live feeling free to be itself, despite its gender or sexual orientation.
Over the past millenniums human history has unfortunately been a bloody story of domination between aristocrats and plebeians; masses of people and the outcast; royalty and commoners, slaves, and the other underclasses. In a few words, a story of discord, aggression, terror and transgression.
This way, I dream on a future in which equality and the freedom to be will have a feasible and real meaning in this world.
During my life journey I have seen lots of friends and relatives struggling about their sexual orientation, going a long way towards self-acceptance, and, as Mr. Luther King, I do have a dream.
I have a dream that every teenager and adolescent exploring itself and its sexuality wouldn’t need to fight against stereotypes, prejudices, misconceptions or even his/her family and friends to reach acceptance because of been genuine, honest and truly sincere with itself and its relatives.
I dream on people not needing to face mental health issues, and alienation feelings because of this. I dream with my friends not needing to face all the uncomfortable and aggressive situations they’ve faced and they still face because of not being heterosexual.
I have a dream that a world conquered by respect and love to one another, of neighbor, can be reachable.
I have a dream on freedom, liberty and justice.
I have a dream, and hope on human kind.
