Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

Uniqueness in an interconnected world (L'unicità in un mondo interconnesso)
I would like to see peace in every state, and that every nation will be able to assert its own characteristics without forgetting the fact that we live in a globalised world. It would be beautiful if everyone in the world managed to do the right job for themselves, the job best suited to their inclinations.
Awareness of being a guest (Consapevolezza di essere ospiti)
The most worrisome problem is that of the environment: this is why the future I want, in twenty years, is a future in which the world and global institutions have taken strong and impactful decisions in this regard. I imagine technological development not “forward” but “transversal”, i.e. not necessarily aimed at progressing and enough, but focused on improving and making the world we live in to zero or negative impact, either by improving what we have achieved so far or through new insights, ideas and discoveries.
I imagine a world where most citizens are aware of their impact on the world and the environment, but the biggest companies are also focused on respecting and improving the world we live in, aware of the weight they have on the world.
Civilization 6: gathering storm
World unification. I'd like a future where states (if they still exists) work together to manage the planet and human progress. A global machine that thinks to it's survival and prosperity, without wasting time in conflicts and misinformation. We can heighten world's cultural level. We can coexist with one another and with the earth. We have science, we can do it.
A free world
We live in a world of fear, unfortunately still, as recent events have shown us. a world ruled by stupid and insecure people who, when they want to, can decide to destroy the world just by snapping their fingers. But why? Why are we at the mercy of these people who control us? Because they are the first to be afraid, afraid of what our mind can do and our mouth can say, they know that if we want we can realize that we don't need them and we can get rid of them, that's why they do everything to suppress us, to prevent us from studying, developing our intelligence and our critical thinking, because if we all did it we would free ourselves from this game. My hope for the future is just this, a world in which everyone can have the opportunity to study and become cultured to develop their personal thinking and the strength and security to defend it, a world in which those powerful but stupid, insecure and fearful men are not allowed to destroy the world but become insignificant, a free and democratic world for everyone.
New Humanity (Umanità nuova)
I imagine a future in which scientific advances have further improved people’s lives in various respects (physical health, mental health, well-being and happiness, relations with others, self-realisation) and where countries have taken important decisions to combat climate change and that action is already being taken in this direction: renewable energy sources are enhanced, cities are much greener, we move more in pieids, in bikes or by public transport, and our lives are generally more sustainable. I imagine a future where social inequalities are reduced and where there is no longer discrimination against minorities such as the LGBTQ + community, people of other ethnicities or religions, etc., where wealth is more evenly distributed among people. I imagine a future where in general much more attention is paid to others in a climate of equality, mutual respect and solidarity, possibly even serenity, where competition is no longer dominant but has been replaced by cooperation and collaboration between people. I also imagine a future in which scientific research has progressed and a lot of things have been discovered that we do not know to date, for example in the physico-cosmological field, but not only.
Efficient employment of resources
I would like it to be based on an efficient employment of human and natural resources. I would like the world society to change its obsolescent features such as the splitting of society into nations, whose bounds are ultimately arbitrary, thus accidental, and the economy based on exchange of currency instead of an efficient employment of resources extabilished a-priori in a scientific way. Since the advent of the information era, none of this is utopy anymore, so it's only matter of time until this model is accomplished.
A world of free men to make free social choices (Un mondo di uomini liberi di fare libere scelte sociali)
A better, fair, balanced society, especially in economic terms. A society where it is not the money but the realisation of whether as a social individual. A company where anyone can make choices that are not economically dependent. Where wealth is distributed and invested in welfare, health, education, nature...
Between science and culture, a new hope, but without fear. (Tra scienza e cultura, una nuova speranza, ma senza paura.)
I would point out that imagining life in 2040 is not very easy. But this can change over these years both the relationship that nations have with scientific progress and their local cultural sources, such as monuments, museums and so on. In many cases, these two aspects of a nation and, by narrowing the scope, of a society or community, are not valued as it should be, since in my view they are two complementary aspects: the first concerns technologies, innovation, investing its future in gradual progress also of human civilisation; the second is the centuries-old contribution of the wider artistic traditions, from painting to seventh art through books and music. I therefore believe that this development is needed on the basis of a substantial financial base and collective action by all, as culture and science go hand in hand. Valorising places of cultural interest and local artistic heritage and encouraging people to take a scientific path from school education onwards, so as to direct many people to these very broad fields of knowledge, is of paramount importance, as it develops various transversal skills and advances in the development of their own critical thinking. To ensure that we do not remain stuck to the metaphoric iron ball that keeps us anchored to the ground of ignorance and neglect.
