Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

Humanity (Človeštvo)
Humanity (Človeštvo)
I want a sustainable future where people’s well-being outweighs capital. This is a future where food self-sufficiency prevails, digitalisation would be used for the well-being of the planet (electrtrification) rather than for the consumable/firmisation of capitalism, with an effective welfare state, sustainable jobs, followed by de-profesionalisation and depolarisation of policy, decentralisation would be a prerequisite for the transition to a green economy.
Something new
Something new
I believe that in 2040 there would be world peace and equality. The people all around the world will be and function as one, there will be no differences. I hope that the world will change and embetter. Everything that is now going downhill will be better and we will live in peace.
Positive change
Positive change
With the development of technology, life resources should be available to more people, and reduce the procentage of poverty around the world.
care (preskrbljenost)
care (preskrbljenost)
A future in which inequality in pay brackets is reduced, as well as another way of valuing students’ knowledge, as well as teachers where teachers are paid for efficiency, i.e. that the work actually gets back to importance, that is to say teaching rather than serving money.
Education and support at school (Izobraževanje in pomoč v šoli)
Education and support at school (Izobraževanje in pomoč v šoli)
Nowadays, school and education are completely different from 10 years ago, let alone 20 and more. Nowadays, the school system may require children too much, so these children lose motivation and their will to school very soon. Teachers are also a major problem, they should be more supportive and motivated and look for original ways of learning to motivate children. Teachers should also be more attentive to children’s behaviour and see when they have problems with either concentration in teaching or difficulties in interpersonal relationships with other students. The rules at school are also no longer as strict as they were before, so school supervision should be stepped up and not only during school hours, but especially during pre- and post-school breaks. The aim of schooling should be to acquire knowledge rather than assessments that do not always reflect reality.
Technological development
Technological development
I hope the world will be led by corporations, countries will only be there to act as their subjects. The technology will improve, and everything will be digital (even money very soon, will be only digitalized). Metaverse might become a reality. Traveling will be easier, because of technological development - it will be cheaper and more convenient. Food will be very expensive, and many people will not be able to afford it, but there will be compensation for it, therefore health might worsen.
Honest present (Iskrena sedanjost)
Honest present (Iskrena sedanjost)
We talk about the future, but I would return to the past. Mutual relations and respect will be discussed. I believe that they have lost their values through global technological developments and a modern way of life. That’s why in 2040 I imagine a series of sincere talks between all generics and regardless of social attitudes. The coffee conversations will not be interrupted by the disruptive message, the father of the child will be able to engage in entertainment at sea with the children and will not be absent due to phone belling and “urgent” calls from the service. I also imagine animation of children other than playing games on a tablet and looking at cartoons. We are available 24 hours a day via phones, i.e. some can be reached at work 24 hours a day, linking it to the privativities of individuals and separating the job segment and private life. In my home words, I don’t want people to “carry a job home”. I again imagine that we start a frank discussion about the problems of individuals and we don’t sweep the problems, but solve them. Here, I remember Ana Karenina’s book, where the spouses fled up to 4 nights until they had solved all the problems and only then bred into bed.
Social networks and teenagers (Družbena omrežja in najstniki)
Social networks and teenagers (Družbena omrežja in najstniki)
Nowadays, more and more people are under the influence of social networks and the ideas they convey. In the future, I want people to return to a time when not everything around phones, games, computers and social networks has yet to survive. Of course, to some extent, the use of these alone is beneficial and not only negative impacts, but in the vast majority it works negatively on teenagers. Instead of playing outdoors with friends, many prefer “scrolling” in Tiktok, Instagram etc. Social networks should be less accessible to young people in the future or later. This would bring many positive changes, above all, in the healthier, development of these children. It would also improve their mental health, self-esteem, etc. Given that social networks also have an increasing impact on our attention, as teenagers increasingly find it difficult to keep their attention and turbulent attention is increasingly peculiar to primary school pupils, this would also have a positive impact on this.
Harmonic living
Harmonic living
In 2040, when I will be 40 years old, I hope to see the world in peace. As basic as it sounds, the world we live in now is restless, turbulent, and in constant conflict. I hope the corona situation will by then, be only a distant memory, as well as the Russia-Ukraine war. I hope we will be able to move spontaneously again and without the fear. Let the world be, as it was before the corona when I think, we were the closest to what seemed to be the perfect living condition - at least from my, privileged, point of view. I hope to live in a world where there are possibilities for self-growth and dreams coming true - job and travel-related.
BE (BITI)
BE (BITI)
A future in which we do not look at the far-reaching future, what it is, will be and what is awaiting us (as we are working now), but where we are all living together in that reality or present, and possibly 2040 is the year when the present is really about something, not an idealised future. If we just think, why do we struck the future? But perhaps the reason is that our created reality is the present of Muka, so that the uncertain, unknown and dark future of the world seems to be more tempted? And again, instead of influencing the present rhythm moving forward to the future, and making constant adjustments, we are preparing for the problems that may come to the plan, but at the same time we are eroding our bit. So we are just in 2040. We do not look back on the past, on the future, but on things now, and not 1000 years on.
