Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

The seeds of peace have grown into a mighty tree
The seeds of peace have grown into a mighty tree
Leadership and culture. Transforming not only what we do, but how we are with each other. Moving from dominance to partnership
Moving into the future by healing the past
Moving into the future by healing the past
I am sitting with a group of around 30 people. We are working together to look at how we move forward together as a community by acknowledging and grieving for what has separated and divided us in the past. We acknowledge that we have ancestors from many origins. We feel our losses and their losses: of loved ones, of lands that were left behind. Tragedies, wars, conflicts, untimely deaths. Things that were broken and could not be fixed. We see how sometimes we had to shut ourselves down and cut ourselves off in order to survive. As we feel our individual, family and collective grief - for what we experienced and for our ancestors experienced - we release our tears into the earth and we look at each other again with fresh eyes and with open hearts. We feel the power of our collective remembering and our collective healing. We sense into our deeper connection and our longing for a different future where we live in harmony with each other and with the land and all the other beings. We leave with a sense of healing and hope for the future.
The Community (Skupnost)
The Community (Skupnost)
I want more people-to-people cooperation at local level, greater cohesion and community care. First and foremost, helping people at individual level, adapting to individual needs. I want as many people as possible to volunteer to help individuals in my community. E.g. helping elderly people, people with disabilities and dugs to deliver food from the shop, transport. Helping children learn, volunteering in schools to carry out sport and other activities organised by the school...
Connectivity (Povezanost)
Connectivity (Povezanost)
Connectivity and compassionate families and communities, organisations and Nature and compassionate Respect for nature and the carbon footprint and circular economy Peace Implementation of social mechanisms that effectively prevent the abuse of power for war activities
Future with healthy work-life balance
Future with healthy work-life balance
More balanced work and life. More time for family, hobbies and myself, including for all activities not related to work or other obligations. Less long working hours, less workload, more possibilities to explore and grow and study. Less 'urgent' tasks, and more long-standing tasks that needs deeper introspection (which is alos freely givend and supported by the employers). Higher paid jobs, productivity not measured in hours spent in office, more flexible working arrangements, 6-hour working days, easier access to leave, more opportunities to take days, weeks off for self-growth or learning.
Discourse (Discourse)
Discourse (Discourse)
My better world is a world with less violence. Less hurtful words and less hurtful actions. In my world, people have insight into complex issues. They are not afraid to tap into these issues. And they are helped to do so. The tool: Talking to each other. Listing. Recognising that Colorful (multi-perspective) is more alive and fruitful than gray (one-dimensional).
Harmony
Harmony
My partner and I live in a village where children walk to school themselves, people talk to their neighbours every day. We run community circles in which people can discuss and make decisions together. People can trust and rely on the community when they are in trouble.
Together we will be successful (Skupaj bomo uspešni)

In 2040, we will have active communities in the field of education to ensure that inclusion lives. Learning will coexist with nature and will be active and experienced.
Teaming up with our future
Teaming up with our future
The world changes quickly, the tech advances really fast, the level of uncertainty for people working is really high. I would like to help people to be able to cope with change with less pain, to find a meaningful way to contribute and to be able to establish relations that help each other to use the collective intelligence. With these capabilities we will be able to thrive in our work and live and to cross collaborate with other industries and cultures.
We excel in being effective in complexity as a world community without falling into costly and horrible traps
We excel in being effective in complexity as a world community without falling into costly and horrible traps
As a global collective of humans (and even other beings) we are able to communicate and take effective action about our most pressing needs (like a pandemic or a climate crisis). Specifically we are able to conversations that deepen the knowledge and wisdom of all participants. We have developed tools and are able to withstand approaches that try to reduce complexity in a superficial way (like conspiracy theories do) and that try to threaten democracy (or better) ways of governing ourselves (like Trumps propaganda is doing). We use the internet, social media (or its successor) in much more life serving ways than we do today amplyfying love, compassion instead of using fear and rage as primary motivators to where we put our attention.
healthier and happier life
healthier and happier life
I work in workplace health promotion and ma topic of research at this time is how to motivate people to participate in activities to improve their workplace and their lifestyle to live a healthier and happier life. We are becoming more passive and fragile compared to our grandparents. In the future I'd like to see greater awareness of the importance and the impact of our everyday life habits on our health and our life.
Whole self, whole society transformation.
Whole self, whole society transformation.
I would like all of us to be able to bring our whole selves, including families and stories to the collective work that we need to do to really transform our societies. Work is whatever society deems as needing to be done rather than just what is likely to create more financial resources. Transformational work includes all parts of society in any given location and we have good ways of making everyone feel welcome and needed as part of this work.
