Life in 2040 is unimaginably different to what I remember it being like 20 years ago! When I wake up every morning, my mechanical assistant delivers my breakfast and vitamins to my bedside locker, while informing me of today's news headlines. The robot declares in a monotone voice: 'Fatal accident occurred in the early hours of the morning when assistant driving machine malfunctions while driving a family at night, with no survivors. Man given a fine of €500 for using slur in social media groupnchat, that was detected by the well-acredited AI anti-hate software that was introduced by our Government nearly 5 years ago.' I sit up, staring at the wall in front of me, and then back at my wee robot. Both headlines moved me, even more so due to their succession of one another. These vessels of human perception and knowledge can be fantastical yet ominous. My mind will never be made up on whether these machines are "good" or "bad", because there simply isnt good or bad, which we learned long ago from our own species. Also, I don't want to get a fine.

The 2040s will be the years of the conquest of space towards Mars. The moon is in the process of being colonized, and Europe will have finally realized that it has all the skills it needs. Genuine collobaration between countries will have made it possible to create a habitable, reusable rocket. France is the only country to have taken part in all the world's space programs, in collaboration with other agencies, and will become the ship's leader. The people in charge of these projects will not be uneducated, but real scientists working in collaboration with European companies. These advances will be the stuff of dreams for young people, who will come and take part in this great adventure. Energy production will be nuclear; the Germans will have understood that green coal doesn't exist. This colonization of our near space will lead to major medical discoveries and a new understanding of our universe. The world will finally be moving in the right direction. All the women in the world will finally be legal, and religion will no longer have a say in the matter.

Everyone is equal and everyone can live the life they want without negative interference. As long as that lifestyle does not hurt others. The number of cars on the streets has decreased considerably, while the number of green spaces has increased. Artificial intelligence is finally being directed in the direction it should be: to do everyday tasks so that people have more time to express themselves and enjoy life. Not like now, where AI does "art" and stuff to give people more time to do chores.

As I will be celebrating my 91st birthday in 2040, I very much hope that I will be able to live to see it in full physical and mental health so that I can still enjoy the benefits of life to the full. I would then like to be able to read in the newspapers that Russia, China and North Korea have developed into model democratic republics following non-violent overthrows, which have flourished economically and are able to offer their populations prosperity and security. Our athletes are also able to shake off the unfortunate loser syndrome and the soccer team only fails in the semi-finals of the World Cup. As a happy great-grandfather, I can have a really good laugh at the clumsy, funny pranks of the great-grandchildren, which doesn't always please their parents. But they are still children with an unbridled thirst for action and nothing is really safe from them. After celebrating our 66th wedding anniversary in May, I took a short trip to Mariazell with my wife to finally see the place for myself. I've been planning this trip for at least 20 years. Otherwise, when the weather is good, we take short walks along the Danube to watch the boat traffic between Vienna and Bratislava from a bench on its banks. In the evening we watch TV, ZIB and, if possible, a movie before retiring for the night.

I would like so much that in the year 2040 you can feel safe on the street and at events again with joy and without fear of assaults, harassment and attacks. Simply to have a feeling of well-being and no more worry / fear because in our country only foreign citizens live who appreciate our culture and life ....

It's 2040 and I'm 74 years old. I'm still strong and healthy, thanks to my exercise routine and new technologies (vaccines, vitamins, and procedures). I still work as a lecturer and consultant for companies and organizations. Europe is increasingly rich and diverse, with many immigrants from different cultures. Languages

Europe has grown into an economically and globally important region, competing seriously with China and the United States. This competition also involves Europe dealing with its guilt and operating outside Europe in pursuit of regional interests. This scenario is the very lifeblood of the Union's continued rationality.

There should be much more cohesion, fairness and social justice in the future so that a reasonable life is guaranteed again. Of course, the environment, nature and climate must also be taken care of, I just hope that the whole of society is committed to this and not that by then there will again be such green madmen who want to determine alone what is to be done! I assume that I won't be able to witness how the situation has changed at this point in time, but we must not give up hope for improvement!

I would like Europe to be independent in contrast to China India USA Russia, to be able to protect and defend itself and to have enough raw materials, to be able to live peacefully together where people can contribute and realize themselves, to be able to afford and build something. To be healthy and active in a better environment. There are enough jobs and an intact and affordable healthcare system.schools and education are better than they are now.

For me, 2040 should change more technological. The cost of ectrical energy, which is very expensive, should change. It is mainly about generation. There are not enough green areas in cities where there is a lot of car traffic. More tree planting as it used to be done is the basis for biological balance. More places of rest and relaxation for young people that no one remembers now. Care for the elderly is the basis. Currently there is a lack of help or pretending that it is ok. In my opinion, more should be done by the State and governments to address the issue of childlessness in Poland. Abortion is to blame for this and not the other way around. Young girls who are not yet developed 15 year olds - 18 year olds take hormones to not get pregnant. And after that they can't get pregnant because the pills weaken the reproductive system of the young and they can't get pregnant. Why don't doctors talk about this. Education should change a lot. It should be stress-free and children should go to school with a smile.

In 2040, after the end of World War III, the world begins to rebuild. Unfortunately, we have irretrievably lost all of our human achievements, all of the technologies that were so important to us. You could say that we have to start from scratch again. Fortunately, in addition to the destroyed technology, there are many engineers left in the world who, I hope, will soon bring us to the point where we had to stop everything. There is something more important. People who survived this war are more united than ever. Origin, race or skin color have ceased to matter to us. With the fall of technology, terrorism and fascism have fallen. We are one nation in the world, on which now depends what our world will look like in the future.

People have come to understand that progress is only possible through cooperation and mutual understanding. Wars are over, countries are developing green economies and appreciating each other's cultural differences. Medicine has introduced new medicines and techniques that enable people to live healthy and balanced lives to the full. Artificial intelligence helps to analyse data and thus make the right decisions.
