Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

a new hope
a new hope
Society has moved on to a green digital model and the environment is recovering while we are getting used to live under a different paradigm: growth is no longer important...but the climate is still changing and requires us to cooperate more and act responsibly
More attention to citizens’ opinion (Stärkere Berücksichtigung der Bürgermeinung)
More attention to citizens’ opinion (Stärkere Berücksichtigung der Bürgermeinung)
Citizens have more and easy ways to influence political or sociological decisions, e.g. through digital public portals (city, state) to express their views on specific issues. These opinion pictures are analysed and used in binding decisions by parliaments/administrations. Active political co-creation and understanding of democracy are already taught in schools. In this way, democratic fatigue and the feeling of powerlessness over minority decisions can be countered. It would also allow politicians to hear more voices and ideas from their voters who have issues other than ‘wokeness’ and gender equality. (E.g. use of gender language by media, administrations, companies without obtaining the majority opinion of the population)
Green and social 2040
Green and social 2040
A future in which all governments around the world are joining forces to leverage climate action, to support developing countries to mitigate and adapt to the consequences of global warming and environmental degradation. In this future, governments hold transparent and open debates with industry, to map the future needs and how education and long-term learning should be adapted to address these new requirements. It is a world, where polarisation is decreasing among citizens and between states based on a common goal: ensuring quality of life and environmental conservation. In 2040, the world I imagine is green, supported by new technologies and changes in behavioural patterns.

I like to live where We live and have the community guarantee to be bigger. More species with the community so different small or big dilemmas of 2040 can be processed into health insurance of wellness for all our departments, mental and spiritual bodies. Connected with global issues via now locally-living and in relationships improving for repair of post Colonial matters.
A well balanced world
A well balanced world
In 2040, women can choose to have kids until 55 years old, if their health permits. There is no more so-called biological clock and this is peu a peu changing the whole workforce. Women feel free to work at any age when they're at their best, have more time to study, and can thrive professionally as well as men. This allows the whole society to reconsider work/life but also activity/nonactivity. Parallelly, the minimum revenue is implemented Europe-wide, which helps to reduce the wealth differences between countries. In the end, there is less unemployment, and activity is spread out 50 to 60 years long in a human life, depending on the type of job. Every citizen now works, but works less. It generates enough wealth to keep a European health care system. Slowly European citizens adopt a more frugal life and the happiness gross product is increasing. It creates a climate favorable to more innovation and increases European wealth
Together's Future
Together's Future
I see myself in an environmentally friendly environment, where the treaty of Paris and its objectifs have been respected and reached. A future in which I don't question my ability to find a job. A future in which I can raise my children and teach them the positive values of our European community and system.
TRANSPORT 2050 - EU inter-modal strategy
TRANSPORT 2050 - EU inter-modal strategy
Complete inter-modal European public transport network based on and inter-connections between metropolitan rail (metro/tram), rail, ferry, river and air transport based on new technologies permitting minimum emissions/environmental impact. .
Back to the human essence (Terug naar de humane essentie)
Back to the human essence (Terug naar de humane essentie)
Living in a living environment: greener cities, access to shops, schools, work, etc. on walking or cycling distances. If not possible, public transport adapted to the number of commuters on the one hand, but also more sliding working hours to relieve public transport on motorways. If walking, cycling, public transport etc. are not possible, use of electric (shared) cars as an alternative. Cars then no longer determine the appearance of the (urban) landscape. In addition, more public spaces that strengthen (including) community feelings in cities/municipalities.

A more tolerant future to all and everybody
A more tolerant future to all and everybody
Looking 20 years into the future, I would like to see Europe more inclusive, tolerant and progressive. I would like to see the inequality gaps decreasing and achieving full gender equality. I would like to see Europe that would be more open-minded. The first aspect is towards other people - accepting different cultures, religions, race, sexual preferences etc. The other side is to be more caring for the world we live in. I would like to see everyone taking full responsibility to be environmentally friendly, protecting the biodiversity and preserving the nature and its resources rather than exploiting them (starting from individuals, academia, business and governments included). To achieve this, we would be adjusting to a different lifestyle, education and doing business. The future of work will be different - with more freedom, more distance working, shorter working hours, even defining work differently. The mobility as we know it would change - less long-distance travelling, shared economy services.
Better social conditions (Better social conditions)
Better social conditions (Better social conditions)
When I imagine that I am in 2040 I see my life in a own house with a husband and children with a garden in Germany.Without any afraid to loose my exist for example through unemployment or homeless.I think the social conditions have to improve, in Germany too, although most of the people in Europe think that there aren' t such problems in a rich country like Germany.Sometimes young people with good education don' t get the chance to show and to use their skills cause the goverment do not give the help which they need.Europe can support the success in each country in some years through more opportunities in economy or more rights for social poor people.

It would be calm, safe, cumbersome, positive and tolerant, and stable for the economy.
