I would like to see a peaceful Europe where every nation state retains its sovereignty. The EU Parliament moves completely to Brussels to save costs. The citizens of Europe have a say and there are referendums. Politicians who allow themselves to make missteps consistently lose their immunity and are held accountable. They are also punished with possible prison sentences. There are no more public service media in Europe. Television stations and the media in general must finance themselves. There is freedom of expression in Europe. The respective constitutional protection agencies of the countries do not take care of unimportant things but really take care of the extremists. The politicians who misbehaved during the corona pandemic by being corrupt and embezzling massive amounts of taxpayers' money and making demonstrably false claims can now leave prison after serving long prison sentences. The former politicians will be paid the accumulated funds for their work during their time in prison. State benefits have been withdrawn from the politicians.

After the short-term shift to the right in politics in 2025, people realized that hatred and intolerance were NOT the right choice and came to the conclusion that understanding each other is the only way to a happy future. It has finally been recognized - without pressure from politics - that the oppression of minorities and exclusion are not acceptable in living together on this planet. The new German government and the EU have now "picked up" all citizens who felt misunderstood and have been able to persuade them to work towards a common future. And last but not least, it should be mentioned that economic interests and nature conservation have also reached a common level and a win-win situation due to people's insight and technological development.

I'd like the future to be conducive to change and for us to put more projects in place to safeguard flora and fauna. I'd like this future to be less polluting by introducing new renewable energies. A future in which violence and war are reduced thanks to agreements between countries.

After the difficult and agonizing years of arch-conservative majorities in Western Europe, citizens and governments are reconsidering a different possible future. But hundreds of thousands of people on the streets and younger and fresh politicians have made this happen. The standard of living in Western Europe could not be maintained, but it has stabilized and thus reduced the fears of many people. Advances in hydrogen and fusion technology have prevented energy prices from rising exorbitantly. Eastern and Western Europe have come closer together and agreed to jointly exploit Ukrainian resources. Political and economic unrest in Russia has caused a further partial disintegration of the Russian Union. North Africa has calmed down somewhat and is looking to the future with more optimism. Now that the USA no longer supports Israel on a massive scale, Israel has to conclude a ceasefire and, after tough negotiations, finally make peace with its neighbors. The reconstruction of the regions around Israel is co-financed by the oil states, which want to profit from a calmer region.

In 2040 all dwelling places are sold with a small growing space where people grow some if their own food. In addition all new apartments are linked to a communal growing space that has a polytunnel for growing tomatoes, courgettes, beans. In 2040 there is no more factory farming and most of the population are vegan. Animal welfare has become an important topic and people have realised that a plant based diet is the most healthy way to live. Membership of these food growing allotment spaces is free and as public transport is now free, there is no barrier to access them. Because of catastrophic climate events, people now realise the importance of food security and self sufficiency. They have voted for parties that promote green living and animal and planet care.

The best future should take into account all the past, take and preserve the best of the past generations, they are the ones that have always forged the future and without them the future is not very flattering. There is less and less interest in maintaining traditions and more interest in economics. There is very little respect, ethics and morality are at rock bottom, and politics prevails over social issues. There are many changes, yes, but the road ahead is long and winding. The extreme right is making its way by leaps and bounds throughout Europe, and that only represents one thing, the weariness of society, falling into the euphemisms proposed by the extreme right in a system of ignorance of society, which wants changes, less corruption, more resources, fewer politicians, less waste and more concern for the native people of each country. It is necessary to help the foreigner but it is necessary to control such aids...it is a nonsense. The future in Europe has to change and I hope that in 20 years, or less, it will be like this.

A united Europe with a strong economy and army, independent of the USA and strong enough to withstand external influences. After a civil war in Russia, it is shaped by the West. Much has been done for the climate and people are doing well in a world where everyone benefits. Cars with new technology characterize the streets. Health care is of a high standard and housing is affordable for everyone.

Vladimir Putin died in 2025, ending years of dictatorship, censorship, and overblown ideas of Russian power. After a fair and transparent election, a progressive politician comes to power, and the old regime falls away with the reactionaries. In the 15 years following, Russia has become an economic powerhouse and has international cooperation as its focus. With a stable government, it is not a military threat to Europe, China, or indeed, any other country. This has inspired other regions in Asia and the Middle East to scale back aggressive behaviours, especially regarding disputed territories. Israel has relocated its citizens to new builds, and negotiations are being held to establish an independent Palestinian state. Hamas has become a political organisation and has renounced its militant ways. Israel has also started making amends to the Palestinian people, but this is a long and ongoing process. The US has become the old guard. It is still a place of dreams and technology, but after the economic crash of 2026, the American people are tired of the pursuit of more and more. The slow life is now the lifestyle trend.

I hope I'll still be here in 15 years' time My ideal is for everyone to be rewarded for their efforts, and for all human beings to live in their own countries But one very important thing for me is that lazy people should not be paid at all.

I wish for peace on earth. Wars are terrible and cost human lives, everything is destroyed and people have to flee. People must all be able to live in peace, the money spent on wars can be better spent elsewhere. A third world war would be glorifying, millions of people would have to flee or will die. I myself have never experienced war in my country, but my parents and grandparents have told me about war. I want to hope that there will be peace on earth in 2040, but there should also be peace by 2040. My wish for 2040 is to have a carefree life and to be able to live well in my country.

I would only wish for one thing: that the green nonsense disappears from the planet so that prosperity and growth are once again possible for all people on this planet. After the growth of the last few decades, humanity will grow, which will automatically steer nature back onto a path that ensures the survival of humanity, no longer with 8, 9 or 11 billion, but ultimately with a sensible 4 to 6 billion on the planet. Until then, the best possible thing has to be done and that is not what ygreens imagine with veggieday and genderwoke work-life balance under wind turbines and solar plants! Have a nice life!
