The Credit Society - by Chiayu Hsu
Ever since Social Credit became fully implemented, the concept of domestic trading has been revolutionized. We now trade our digital footprints, privacy, and for some people, dignity in exchange for convenience, recognition, and safety. It changed the social order as well. Those who had social status and wealth now need to strengthen their third power, hence the Social Credit black markets and Social Credit laundries. Those who had no social status nor wealth now get the chance to climb up the societal food chain by playing ‘model citizens’- not only well-behaving oneself, but helping the society to ‘correct the un-ethicality’, hence the ‘social activists’ or the ‘moral vigilantes.’
The New Religion - by Chiayu Hsu
Ever since the capacity of machines exceeded that of human beings, the only activity left for humans was inventions. The arts, philosophy, and religion, those innate talents which humans have practiced for thousands of years, are the last capacities which the machine will assume.
Sci-fi The Pure-blooded Elite - by Chiayu Hsu
The virus mutation kept outpacing medical advances and humans had to live alongside the ever-evolving disease. Cities went into lockdown from time to time. Health code applied worldwide and became the new visa. People now take different drugs constantly to ease new symptoms. The abuse of chemicals brought physical malfunctions or even genetic disorders. Some nations resorted to the more extreme measure- genetic modification- to prevent generational extinction.
Cities are Materials Banks - by Johanna Hoffman
We zoom in on a material bank in the western sector of a city on the edge of the sea. It’s a storefront on a back alley, stories of offices and apartments rising above and keeping the sunlight low on the street where you’re waiting to go inside. The year is 2070, half a century since a chain of pandemics hit the globe. There was coronavirus, a return of norovirus that mutated into something new, and on and on until people started to forget the names bc they didn’t want to remember.

visions
Today's cities are more evenly populated. They are made up mainly of small, almost self-sufficient buildings, which produce their own heating and cooling thanks to thermal paints and vegetation covering roofs and walls. Connected, everything can be done by thought... opening, heating, ordering... housework is done autonomously by specialized robots. We don't meet much, since we go out less and virtual contact makes us almost present, thanks to 3D holograms. Human beings are more inward-looking, no longer travelling to meet or work.
Das Jahr 2040
The year is 2040 and we live in a time when people have understood that war is not a solution. After the USA and China have proven to the world that they have power, peace reigns. Unfortunately, people can no longer live everywhere without problems due to weather disasters. There are more and more periods of heat and therefore drought. The world is constantly changing.
Demain, peut être
in the near or more or less distant future. I'll no longer be part of this world, so I can only imagine what my children's future will be like. Their respiratory systems will have deteriorated, and they'll have to breathe through filters. No doubt the war will have passed, and the population will have declined sharply. The box system will still exist, if people don't get moving; they'll just execute and obey.
They'll probably watch films, reflecting trees and nature. Women will no longer bear children. Everything will take place in laboratories. Progress will be driven by artificial intelligence, with its good points and especially its bad, not because of AI, but because of men who see only profit. I've known horse-drawn carts, steam trains, rockets, computers, cell phones and color TV. But where is simple happiness?
Freundlichkeit
I wish that people would treat each other more kindly again in the future. People should no longer just be selfish, because basically we're all in the same boat. I wish people would be more human and helpful again. Children should be brought up better again.
Decency, politeness and above all consideration should become much more important again. The world as it is right now is too unfriendly, cold and aggressive.
Today, people hardly dare to go outside in broad daylight, let alone in the evening.
Nouveaux modes de préservation de l'espèce humaine
In the 2040s, advances in medicine enabled AI to create cocoons where patients could receive treatment and get their bodies back in tip-top shape. Market gardening and animal husbandry were revamped to provide the population with as much healthy food as possible. The development of renewable energies reduced pollution. A worldwide policy of birth control has been introduced.
La Nature est revenue
The year is 2040.
In France, a lot has changed in terms of the environment.
But it's from my home that I look at the Mediterranean, which is much less polluted, the beaches are clean, and the inhabitants and/or tourists no longer throw anything into this beautiful natural environment. Near the coasts, there are more and more dolphins and sea turtles, and the seabed is magnificent and populated with possions since fishing has been banned.
A little further away in the Luberon, in the evening on my mother's terrace, you can hear a pack of wolves howling and communicating, it's magnificent it echoes everywhere, since hunting has been banned the wild boar population is now regulated, the wolf has found its quarters again and no longer attacks the shepherds' sheep which are well protected and much less numerous, it must be said that the French hardly eat meat anymore.
A little further on, in Gap, it's winter. It's snowing well enough, but it's going to take some time for the glaciers to re-form. We're on the right track, global warming still exists, but it's not moving as fast.
Grünes Utopia
In 2040, we will have managed to live sustainably and ecologically without exploiting nature any further. Damaging the environment leads to very high penalties. People have finally realized that humans, animals and the environment only work together - not separately. This is why nature and animal protection has become so important. Animal products are now only consumed and produced in exceptional cases. Animal rights have taken on a high priority.
We have also come a long way in terms of technology, so that there are almost no private vehicles any more, but you can get to your destination quickly and easily with car sharing or public transport. Consumption has changed drastically and it is no longer about "more, more, more" and Provit, but about long-lasting, sustainable, social products that are good for everyone. There are awards for companies that act in a particularly honest, socially and environmentally responsible way. People are much healthier and happier. There is more cohesion and cultural exchange.
La société en 2040
Society in 2040 is more tolerant, with individuals less individualistic, but with a real awareness of the importance of "forming society", of being a community of solidarity, responsible for its future and its environment. Man has realized that he can be the key to his own salvation. Individuals are now more involved on a daily basis in helping others, preserving the environment and sharing wealth. Individual aspirations have given way to a collective, voluntary dynamic. Everyone is involved at his or her own pace, providing help, a gesture or time for an environmental or social cause. The economy is no longer based solely on personal enrichment, but values work and investment.
So könnte eine vernünftige Zukunft aussehen
The focus must remain on migration, economic and social policy, and the voice of the citizen must be heard, possibly through referendums. The gap between rich and poor must close again and utopian salaries, whether in sport or politics, must be abolished. We need to return to our values, become less demanding and include the weaker members of society, because everyone is needed. School education needs to be completely overhauled, it can't go on like this. Cell phones do not belong in the classroom. People who look after people in a private atmosphere, be it children, the sick or the elderly, must be given credit for their time. The same applies to voluntary work in clubs, the fire department, etc. Everything must be distributed more fairly, then neither greed nor envy will arise. We should also pay more attention to the fact that the food industry is pushing food that makes us ill, which is really impossible. All in all, we should work more again, then we won't have bad thoughts. All problems are self-made.
vivre simplement
In 2040, I'd like us to still be able to live in nature, to still be present, to still be in good health. I'd like my family to be able to continue to live in complete freedom, to maintain the French traditions that we hold so dear, to preserve the heritage that has made our country what it is, and for everyone to be able to live together in complete safety.
Zukunft
I would like to see a Europe without wars and despots. And less garbage and dirt on the streets. If there are no more wars anywhere, everyone can stay in their own country (except for vacation purposes) Weapons (including knives) should be banned. It should be possible to treat illnesses in clinics - including cancer. Affordable housing for all. Inflation would be abolished
EU der offen Zukunft
Europe a common country that stands for progress and freedom. Where people, regardless of their ethnic origin, can live and develop freely and where there are no more dictatorships and autocracies that continue to restrict life here. The former right-wing populism has become history and there is now only a Europe without borders and without individual states with open borders to the outside. The EU with Russia and Ukraine is one of the most important players in the world and there are no more trade wars with the USA and China. Climate protection is on track, the economy is booming and everyone is very happy to live in the European Union of the future. That would be my chosen future
