Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

#OurFutures stories by EU citizens
Pilk tulevikku
I hope life is more hopeful. There is peace in Europe and everyone is striving for a cleaner and more liveable life. A lot of AI assistance is used and a decent life is guaranteed for children and the elderly. Good education is available to all children and alternative technologies are used to produce energy. A large part of business tourism has been replaced by virtual communication. A large part of defence spending is related to space technologies. The standard of living of Europe's poor money will converge and a common effort will be made to protect Europe. Besides metropolitan areas, life in rural areas is also starting to grow, investments are planned so that each region can deal with the works that would make the most sense for that region. For every person in need of care, it is possible to stay in a care institution and medical care, including specialised medical care and medicines, would be available to everyone in need. What good are new expensive medicines if only the richest in the world can buy them? Basic needs such as shelter and food should be guaranteed. What good is sorting garbage if there is war in Europe, what harm is it doing to our planet?
Helt på Månen
January 1, 2040 is a day I will always remember. Together with other young people from each of the EU member states, I had been selected to travel from Kiruna in Sweden to the ISS, the International Space Station. It had expanded considerably over the last decade. Arriving at the ISS, we had to go through the first part of the UN Youth Programme UNITY (United Nations International Training Years). The five best of us would land on the moon! I didn't sleep all week after I got that message.
Hopefully, a hopeful future
I would like to see a brighter future will less war and smarter political decisions on both national and global scale. I would like for pollution issues to be adresssed seriously, but I have a feeling that won't change and will only get worse. Overall, I wish to see happier and more care free people.
Proveržis. Ligai stop.
2040
Advanced medicine.
Because I inherited my Shark-Mary-Tutt disease. I see this in advanced medicine. And finally, already approved drugs for the disease.
I see myself getting up in the morning, going to the bathroom, not the water I brought to bed for washing. I see myself, I take my hair comb, and I comb my hair. I see myself going to the kitchen and making myself breakfast. I can see how my own hands clean the house, wash the floor, take the laundry outside and enjoy it. I see how I prepare everything myself, everything by myself. and not like now, I don't even raise my hand to comb my hair.
But let's look at the time. I'm going to be close to a senior (retirement age). Maybe it will be all automated, and I will have an artificial skeleton on me, with the help of which I will do everything.
Maybe in 15 years, not for me, but for my child, a program will be available where you were nothing, and now you are in a common whole, with all equals, not exclusive, with constraints, incapable.
Saugi ir ori ateitis
Since retirement age is approaching inexorably (if not extended), I travel to 2040 knowing that I will already be in a well-deserved rest. I would very much like to believe that old age in our country will be dignified, that in the remaining fifteen years we will reach a level that does not need to think about whether it will be enough for food and medicine to pay taxes. And when we go to a well-deserved rest, we would like to devote more time to culture, hobbies, new first times. I believe that the Lithuanian government will find ways to raise wages not only for itself, but also to correctly assess the time, strength and health that we have given to Lithuania. I hope that health care will also respond to a person here and now, doctors will get a decent salary so that they do not have to look for a job abroad, that we will get help here and now, not in half a year, or we will leave without getting anapilin, because there is a shortage of doctors and a huge queue, doctors work privately, and many have nothing to pay for, even though they have paid insurance premiums for their whole lives.
Moins matériel, plus solidaire
A better world would be, by 2040, either we have overcome war, the most serious diseases, or we have integrated tolerance, benevolence, where people can live in a healthy ecological climate. In this future solidarity will be enshrined in the world constitution. Famine will be eradicated . we will work less and we will live more, we will bury consumerism.
The real better world
I would like to see more sustainable way of living, industrial processes using green chemistry and renewable energy, sustainable food production and more even distribution accross the globe. Overall, the Sustainable Development Goals coming to reality. We need to have the CO2 cut substantially or totally neutralized by then. The way we explore raw resources should also have a major shift, always trying to remediate or regenerate natural areas and intensively applying the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle principles. Only that way, we can secure our future, because we not outside of the environment, we are literally part of it, so our impact should be as minimal as possible.
Skandinavien samlet igen for folket
Ahh what a wonderful morning I wake up fresh with the idea that Scandinavia is reunited , yes now we call the Swedes our brothers and sister people with pride in heart and the Norwegians our beautiful and warm cousins in the north . Our officials have become close and comradely with Swedish and Norwegian officials so there are discounts when traveling to each other's countries and then we eat more of each other's food goods so health increases for all good quality is the way forward
5% balsu vēlēšanu slieksnis nav politiķa dzīves moto
It would be a day or a year where mankind would forget about the handling of military relations, this topic would be described only on the pages of history and would only be amazed by the young generation, and its understanding would require the in-depth involvement of a history expert. People would finally understand that there is no prospect of grabbing territories, destroying people and the environment. Unnecessary military spending would be directed towards science and the sustainable existence of the globe. It would be a day when I would not want to flee somewhere, not to hear what is happening around me now, not to understand what the political elite is talking about, not to have a desire to get rid of analytical abilities, so that the terms disinformation, populism, etc. become old words.
en drøm... der aldrig kommer til at ske!
a world no longer dominated by insane ideas and ideologies, where greed does not block progress!
a world where we are no longer too afraid to sanction hostile nations... where horrific actions are not ignored because those who practice them have a book there that they must.
a world where one does not just send one's problems and responsibilities to another "poor" country, where there is real cooperation to solve problems instead of being only interested in one's own.
a world where you are part of a global community and not just a local one.
a world where humanity and well-being are a focal point.
a world where human rights include food, water, education, freedom, security and a lot of other things.
2050-ųjų vasara
In the summer morning of 2050, when the sun will already warm the sky, people will rush into their daily work, but something will be different. Most of them will stop going to the offices and work remotely using virtual realities that will look like a real part of life. Although the pace of life will become faster, technological advances will allow you to significantly reduce the workload and open up more time for personal hobbies. The world of the future is not only created by innovation, but also renewed by human value. After climate disasters and planetary challenges, people will come together to fight environmental pollution. Sustainable technologies will emerge that will enable not only the purification of water and air, but also the creation of fully renewable cities that can grow and adapt to nature. The world will no longer be what we remember from the past: people will value relationships, empathy and cooperation more. Everyone will know that the future depends not only on technology, but also on our ability to grow as a community.
Wizja
I would like it to be a Europe without wars, but perhaps it is not so easy to civilise certain nations. There will probably be a conflict in Europe. It may be possible to reduce CO2 emissions and in this respect Europe will be a green island on the globe. I also think that by 2040 today's youth will be intellectually mature and there will be a different perspective on the issues of protecting the planet.
