Europe 2040 - very different from Europe today. Ukraine, liberated from the Russians with European help, is now a member of EU. The borders have been closed and most immigrants repatriated to their home countries – the right to asylum is only in effect for neighbouring countries. As a consequences crime is less frequent and social tension is lower. Most EU laws has been abolished, except for free trade and free movement. Deregulation and modified climate legislation has created a foundation for growth and stability in Europe. The future is bright!

The future would be colourful and varied, with respect, empathy and communication being the main themes in society. The environment would not be filled with competition, beauty and perfection, but with the individuality of the individual. There would be a shift from materialism to minimalism, people would be accepted as they are. Society would want to address the ecological crisis head-on.
