I assume that in the coming decades scientific research, and consequently technologies, will become more advanced and new rules of our universe will be discovered. The advanced technologies that are currently only experimental will be able to help citizens from a medical health point of view. An intrinsic property of this advancement in human science is the increase in the quality of the education system. As the proposed future is set in 2040, the 2030 Agenda will have been finalised. This leads to the possibility of a decrease in global warming.
I honestly don't think that in the future our society will be totally correct and morally perfect. Such a society has never existed in all of human history, so I doubt that in the next 20 years we would be able to build it.
From a purely economic point of view, there is a possibility that in the future trade power will be more evenly distributed across the globe, as the populations of many nations are still developing. It is, however, possible that much of the economic power will still be in China's possession.
Economic development would also lead to more jobs and improved country-to-country migration conditions.
