Utopia
I am 74 years old. Thanks to technological advances, you don't notice that about me. I fully enjoy my life as an aromatherapist and artist. Thanks to artificial intelligence, I have been able to build a beautiful career and live in complete freedom in all areas. I am still perfectly healthy and travel as often as I can, exclusively in sustainable ways. Gas is long gone. Public transportation is there for everyone and is super extensive day and night. Getting on a train or bus is only possible if you step through the control gates; checked by robots. Those who do not comply do not ride. Religion and war no longer exist; neither do borders (and therefore property). Everyone gets a basic income. There is only one government in region of Belgium. Everyone has solar panels and/or windmills. Organically grown food is the norm. On the health front, each person is looked at as a whole and complementary therapies are the main norm. Thanks to the use of stem cells, diseases have been eradicated. Every person is equal worldwide and can fully be who they are and live life to the fullest.
A better way would be more investment/money in health care. It has gotten so much worse the last 15 years. Everything should be saved, the health care system is losing money every year, but give them more money then! Before, people were afraid of getting sick and how to handle it when they get sick. Nowadays you worry if you would even have time to see a doctor or if the doctor will take the time to even examine you properly. My better future would be more people working in healthcare. An accessible doctor and other healthcare professionals.
As far as health is concerned, I can imagine major advances: drugs will no longer have the place they have today, and we'll be able to treat illness with sounds, vibrations or colors.
We'll certainly be able to age longer and in better shape than we do today.
The infinitely small (cells) that constrain us will be better understood and apprehended. Money in general will no longer have the same impact on people's consciences as it does today, and will be seen as a tool for advancement, not a substitute for, or a means of dominating others.
The basic choice will always be a product that respects the environment and the individual, at a price that is not exaggerated. Empathy, and all other positive human feelings, will be valued during school education, there will no longer be anyone left behind, the choice of professions will be made progressively from kindergarten so that children can change if it doesn't suit them.
Free energy (electro-magnetic) will be widespread, we'll travel further and faster, interstellar travel will be frequent, and tourist trips to near-earth neighborhoods will be a daily occurrence. Expeditions further afield will be decided on a piecemeal basis, taking into account the risks to civilization, disease, invasion, etc...
Human beings will no longer work as hard as they do today, robotics and AI will replace us in thankless tasks. Our activities will be motivated by passion and the pleasure of doing an activity, which means that progress will go much faster, with no more social, physical or international barriers.
A universal wage will be institutionalized across the planet, with very little difference between the lowest and highest levels.
Trade exchanges with other non-aggressive exogenous civilizations will be set up, exchanging technology, commodities and basic materials.
It has now been 16 years since my body "broke down." I had to give up music almost completely. Today's news finally brightened the colors of the future a little. Global peace is finally a reality. What seemed like utopias we are living them. No war, no difference. Human beings are united in the fight against disease. For me, like so many others, it is back to full physical efficiency. I will be able to return to playing my instrument and help those in need.Today we can say, "What a beautiful life!"
