A better world - but not realistic

Against all odds humankind decided to actually take climate change serious and change the way we think of how to co-exist with the planet. Now, if you go into the supermarket meats are considered a rare luxury, only for special occasions. People are also healtiher as high taxes on sugar, tobacco, alcohol and processed food, mean more people have learned to cook again. Economic growth is not as high anymore, but we can live with that. Right to repair has been enforced and people are encouraged to interact. Daily limits on social media has helped manage misinformation and echo chambers.

Since we are in 2040 . I want our future to be twice as good. To introduce some new ways to maintain the cleanliness of the environment and air. And that all wars be stopped and that we all live normal lives in peace and harmony. Most likely, it would improve jobs and increase pay and create more shelters for the homeless. She would most like to change the way she treats each other. To introduce better systems in schools and for children to have a carefree childhood. And as far as environmental pollution is concerned, electric cars should be introduced to reduce pollution. And more use bikes and public transport that would be among the cheaper or even free. I think that's all she'd change.

It's been 2040 and I still remember 2025. A year of turmoil over the war in Ukraine, price rises, anger. Anger in most people's hearts. I wouldn't have thought that 2040 would be a completely different year. We will have freedom for love, freedom for culture and stronger education for children at school on everyday issues. We have become happier, more understanding and less public anger. Our world became more beautiful, and so little was needed, just love.

Science takes over
It's 2040, and I'm walking through the streets of Kortrijk. The air is cleaner than I could have ever imagined when I was a child. Above me float transparent solar panels that are integrated into the architecture, almost invisible but responsible for generating 80% of the electricity in the city. The scientific revolution has also transformed our health. CRISPR-Cas13 technology has led to gene therapies that can treat previously incurable diseases. The average life expectancy has risen to 95 years, while maintaining quality of life.
