2040-aisiais metais visiškai pasikeitęs žmonių mąstymas apie aplinkosaugos problemas. Jau nebėra bendrų sąvartynų, visos šiukšlės rūšiuojamos. Nepamatysi nei vienos šiukšlės gamtoje. Žmogui gėda praeiti pro netyčia gamtoje atsiradusią šiukšlę ir jos nepakelti, jau nekalbant apie tai, kad pats ją numestų. 2040-aisiais nebėra medžiotojo statuso, nes niekas nebemedžioja ir nesupranta, kaip galima žudyti. Visi gyvūnai laisvai vaikšto ir nebebijo žmonių, nes niekas jiems nieko nedaro.
Naminių gyvūnų prieglaudos taip pat pasikeitę. Jei ten netyčia atsiranda gyvūnas, tai jis jaučiasi kaip kurorte, jam ten gyvenimo sąlygos būna kaip namie, kiekvienas gyvūnas ten norėtų atsidurti. Gyvūnų prieglaudos taip pat atviros ir žmonėms, jie gali čia ateiti, kada panorėję, todėl gyvūnai čia neužsibūna: juos kas nors netrukus priglaudžia.
2040-aisiais žmonės galvoja apie ateitį, kaip gyvens jų vaikai, anūkai, proanūkiai ir vėlesnės kartos. Dėl to jie neteršia aplinkos, tvarko, kas jau užteršta ankstesnių kartų, nežudo gyvūnų, bet jais rūpinasi, kad kuo daugiau jų rūšių išliktų ateities kartoms.

I have grown older. Together with my partner, I fulfilled my dream of building another house - after all, there was still room in the garden of the old house! There are lots of activities for young and old, and most people are keen to get involved in voluntary work. All in all, it's a good place to grow older.
