In 2040, people's thinking about environmental issues has changed completely. There are no more shared landfills, all rubbish is separated. You won't see a single piece of rubbish in nature. It is a disgrace for a person to pass by a piece of litter that has accidentally appeared in nature and not pick it up, let alone drop it themselves. There are no more plastic islands in the oceans, they have been turned into residential areas and are no longer expanding because nobody throws rubbish into the water. People only know from history that they were once islands of plastic and have no idea how this could have happened, because they themselves think about littering in a completely different way to past generations.
In 2040, there is no longer a hunter because no one hunts anymore and no one understands how to kill. All animals are free to roam and are no longer afraid of humans because nobody does anything to them.
Pet shelters have also changed. If an animal accidentally turns up there, it feels like a resort, it has the same living conditions as at home, and every animal wants to be there. Animal shelters are also open to people, they can come in whenever they want, so the animals don't stay there: they are soon taken in by someone.
In 2040, people are thinking about the future, how their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and later generations will live. That's why they don't pollute the environment, clean up what has been polluted by previous generations, or kill animals, but care for them so that as many of their species as possible survive for future generations.
