For almost three years, I have been one of the first colonists to live on Mars. After 2025, planet Earth will suffer unprecedented ecological disasters, not helped by worsening overpopulation. In 2035, the Earth's population will have exceeded 12 billion, so some people will have had to leave in search of new habitable worlds. The journey to Mars took six months and was extremely physically and mentally demanding. Perhaps we colonists can avoid all the mistakes humanity made on Earth. Maybe Mars will one day become a new Earth where humanity can start again.

A united Europe has put pressure on Russia and the US, so that the people of these countries have stopped believing the populists and are electing democratic leaders. The European Union's army guards order, and more and more countries want to join the union to benefit from the protection its army provides. Wise management of resources has allowed the development of science, whose achievements allow mitigation of climate change and improved communications. The sanctions imposed on pharmaceutical companies are slowly changing the face of the companies, they are no longer profit-driven and the approach to the health of people and society is key.

We are in the year 2045. after much turbulence, the governments of the nations have decided on peaceful cooperation based on the common good. financial resources are now used to build and maintain a modest and sustainable lifestyle that enables all people to live a dignified and meaningful life. military interventions to maintain power and control resources are a thing of the past. scientific research has developed systems of a regional circular economy that has recognized biodiversity as essential to life. ethics and integrity of character are the prerequisites for political office and are cultivated in interpersonal interactions. socially destructive technologies have been replaced by constructive methods that are conducive to human coexistence. life is valued more than profit. money serves as a means of payment for the real economy instead of a rampant capital market.
