The future in Europe in 2040:
I imagine a continent much like it is today, with great diversity and stunning landscapes. The future I imagine is, however, a bit ideal. Still no borders, still united in diversity, still enjoying all of the freedoms, but there is free education, free childcare, free travel and, what is most important, no hate. Just happiness and joy.

The future would be colourful and varied, with respect, empathy and communication being the main themes in society. The environment would not be filled with competition, beauty and perfection, but with the individuality of the individual. There would be a shift from materialism to minimalism, people would be accepted as they are. Society would want to address the ecological crisis head-on.
