In 2040, I envision a future in which the climate crisis is successfully managed and sustainability is at the heart of all social and economic activity. I would like to see a world where renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydropower are the dominant sources, and fossil fuels are a thing of the past. Cities would be greener, full of parks, vertical gardens and sustainable buildings that produce more energy than they consume.

Cooperation between countries would be an important aspect of this future - solidarity in the fight against climate change, fair distribution of resources and access to clean water, education and healthcare for all. Technology would be used to protect nature and restore ecosystems, not to destroy them.

Such a future would be built on responsibility and respect for the planet and for each other - a world where harmony between humans and nature is a given.

In 2050, people have realised that we come from our childhood and from school. We will make better decisions if we have a better education. The richest part of the world is working very hard to ensure that at least basic education is available everywhere in the world. In Estonia, the salaries of nursery and school teachers are such that these jobs go to the best of the best. A smart nation becomes a prosperous one. I would like to see better living conditions for our aged loved ones. Integrated living in communities with support for all their needs. Most people would like to remain in their own homes but sometimes because of the way life throws us curve balls this is not possible without huge support . I believe we could serve our loved ones better with better structured healthcare programmes giving them a new purpose with innovative plans to help them live their best life

HEALTH: In 15 years, I will not be able or have to go to the doctor. I give my complaint to an AI, which immediately measures my blood pressure, heart, etc., possibly medications are available within a very short time by drone. If complicated treatment is suspected, an ambulance is automatically requested to be admitted to a corresponding hospital.

Totally United Europe

In 2040, I would love to see a totally united Europe including the countries that are part of the EU but are not as supportive as many countries, and including Ukraine and other countries that are not yet part of the EU. It would make it so much more attractive to holiday in a totally united Europe - and hopefully, the costs will not have soured as they have been doing for many European countries.
