I imagine a future that places where people live are inclusive for all species, and are designed through participatory and collaborative processes based on wellbeing and propesperity, rather than economic profit. I imagine a future that slowly moves away from economic growth and towards degrowth, trying to bring stability back to our ecosystems by regenerating them. I imagine a future where local government has more power, skills, and resources to care and address for the environmental and social issues rising within their communities in a democratic way. I imagine a future where everyday life is made more wholesome, by creating pockets of community, solidarity, and collective care, all the while work hours are decreased. I imagine a future where people of all backgrounds have equal rights, and where minorities are supported and celebrated. I imagine a future where the majority of local mobility happens on foot or by cycle. I imagine a future where we learn from the wisdom of our ancestors, rather than destroying indigenous communities and populations. I imagine a future where Western thought is not colonising the world, and other ways of being flourish and co-exist. I imagine a future where people's migration is not be feared, but to be welcomed. Because migration will be necessary, as we have utterly destroyed many parts of the world, making them uninhabitable.
