Operational by 2040. The evolution of VR, AR and 4D printing technologies and the significant reduction in their costs are paving the way for the creation of new generation ecocrafts. The creative industry at home is flourishing. Millions of projects to create objects – from customised and customised everyday equipment to immersive works of art – are ongoing in the homes of individuals or groups of people. The objects produced are sold through new-generation marketplaces, while the consumer can intervene in their production and configure them even during the creation phase, through a process of dynamic interaction with the product and the manufacturer’s digital assistant: an AI algorithm capable of assessing and managing new requests and learning alone about the specificities of potential buyers. These projects generate new income, while low production costs allow more people to access the production process. At the same time, the fact that production is spread across many different locations allows the supply of products and services within a very short radius from the consumer’s home, which reduces the cost and environmental footprint of transport. At the same time, new forms of art are being created, with works that interact with the viewer and are transformed, and a new code of ethics is being established to protect users of immersive environments from the possibility of universal immersion in virtual worlds.
