My wish for 2040 is that we will no longer be bossed around by such nobodies and whistles in Brussels or in national governments. Politics in the EU is increasingly degenerating into lobbyism and a self-service store. More direct democracy and not just a pretense of democracy. Security in the EU should be protected by external borders.

The future would be colourful and varied, with respect, empathy and communication being the main themes in society. The environment would not be filled with competition, beauty and perfection, but with the individuality of the individual. There would be a shift from materialism to minimalism, people would be accepted as they are. Society would want to address the ecological crisis head-on.
