As I will be celebrating my 91st birthday in 2040, I very much hope that I will be able to live to see it in full physical and mental health so that I can still enjoy the benefits of life to the full. I would then like to be able to read in the newspapers that Russia, China and North Korea have developed into model democratic republics following non-violent overthrows, which have flourished economically and are able to offer their populations prosperity and security.
Our athletes are also able to shake off the unfortunate loser syndrome and the soccer team only fails in the semi-finals of the World Cup. As a happy great-grandfather, I can have a really good laugh at the clumsy, funny pranks of the great-grandchildren, which doesn't always please their parents. But they are still children with an unbridled thirst for action and nothing is really safe from them.
After celebrating our 66th wedding anniversary in May, I took a short trip to Mariazell with my wife to finally see the place for myself. I've been planning this trip for at least 20 years. Otherwise, when the weather is good, we take short walks along the Danube to watch the boat traffic between Vienna and Bratislava from a bench on its banks.
In the evening we watch TV, ZIB and, if possible, a movie before retiring for the night.

Spet ljudje

After some radical upheavals, we are in a beautiful sunny spring. The seasons have changed, we are the last generation that still knows what it was like in the last millennium. But one gets used to everything, changes happen wherever the Earth stands and they have to be accepted. Finally it has happened, people have calmed down and focused on the joy of life, they have started to socialise and exchange. Previously fascinating advances in technology have become a necessary part of everyday life, but they have not succeeded in tearing people apart and throwing them into an otherwise voluntary isolation and self-centredness. Children chase each other around the meadows and help themselves to the fruit on the neighbour's pear tree, with their furry friends. Mothers know that children naturally develop into adults and responsible persons, having been deprived of this themselves. People have become tolerant, less egoistic and, as a result, happier. They have managed to turn technology and all changes in their favour, for the common good. Around us are smiling and sociable faces, aware of the role of their culture for future generations.

Alles gut?

I hope for the future that the world will be so pacified by then that there will be no more such wars as before. Until then, it should be a matter of course in the "developing countries" that people can adjust peacefully to coexistence and design their lives with the right technology in such a way that everyone receives a reasonable standard of living, i.e. the right educational opportunities, sufficient food, etc. These countries manage their raw materials themselves and are reliable trading partners for the "industrial countries". The technology is so advanced that solar power can be stored in sufficient quantities, so that "Dunkelflauten" can also be overcome over several days and in winter. Especially in the desert areas, the solar power harvest will be so good that all people on earth will have their livelihoods, so that it would not be necessary to invade other peoples in armed conflicts.

I imagine that we are all very busy freeing nature from all the concrete. We are happy because there is finally security and peace all over the world. The bad people are gone and we can enjoy the good air and nature in all its splendor. We will cook and eat together, nobody is envious of anyone else. Everyone is happy with what they have, because they have everything they need to live. The waters are no longer polluted and no one is cruel to animals or uses them as test subjects. We all have only one faith and only one God, to whom we are grateful for everything he gives us every day. We are getting healthier and fitter every day and we can travel the world without money and see and experience everything that we previously only knew from books or movies. We will be welcome everywhere and get along with everyone. There will be no more stress or entrepreneurs who want to get richer and richer. Because no money in the world can buy life.
