In 2040 zal het grootste deel van onze energie afkomstig zijn van duurzame bronnen zoals zonne-energie, windenergie en waterkracht.
Men zal toch ook naar kernenergie blijven kijken, ik hoop dat daar betere oplossingen voor ontwikkeld worden.
Fossiele brandstoffen zullen grotendeels zijn uitgefaseerd.

Ook de luchtvaart zal duurzamer worden, bijvoorbeeld door de ontwikkeling van elektrische vliegtuigen of het gebruik van biobrandstoffen.
Ik hoop dat daardoor af en toe een betaalbare vlucht naar bijvoorbeeld de Canarische eilanden tot de opties blijft behoren.
Werken op afstand zal steeds normaler worden, waardoor mensen meer vrijheid hebben om hun eigen werktijden en -locatie te kiezen.
Dit zal hopelijk tot minder files leiden.
Veel taken zullen worden geautomatiseerd, waardoor mensen zich kunnen richten op creatieve en complexe taken.
Levenslang leren: Door de snelle technologische ontwikkelingen zullen mensen zich voortdurend moeten bijscholen en nieuwe vaardigheden moeten leren.
Reizen en vakantie zullen steeds duurzamer zijn.
