I assume that by 2040 scientists will conduct definitive tests on new methods of treatment for diseases that were once considered incurable.

Most people will lose their jobs due to robotization. People will move on to work online. Many professions will disappear, as robots will perform tasks in place of humans.

Scientists will discover a remedy against aging, such as a rejuvenating vaccine or pills, and people will stop resorting to plastic surgery to look younger. Aesthetic interventions will only be performed to correct the appearance, if necessary.

Devices will become thinner, but also smarter and faster. Perhaps it will be possible to perceive the smells through the screen, and maybe even shake hands virtually.

Education will gradually move to online. People will spend less and less time in face-to-face meetings.

Food can be printed with 3D printers, and animals will no longer be killed for meat. The problem of poor harvests will disappear completely.
