Europa Regresa

The future in 2040 I would like to see marked by a return to traditional values and a European economy at the forefront and not lagging behind as it is today. The Europe of 2040 I would like to see united in its liberal and democratic values, but aware of external threats such as political Islam and the threat of immigration with no interest in integrating into these European values. In 2040 Europe should have made a strong bet on increasing birth rates of the native/indigenous population to reverse the demographic winter and, coupled with that, a variety of housing access policies to make it easier for families to live in some economic comfort. Europe in 2040 should have opted for deregulation, the end of climate policies that prevent us from competing with other countries in the world and for economic liberalism and the reduction of states.

Schöne, neue Welt
We live in harmony with nature, food is produced regionally, in good quality and with respect for plants and animals. Spending time together is valuable, but we also respect boundaries and individualism. Long-distance travel is not very important; we appreciate the beauty of our immediate surroundings. It doesn't matter how much someone has, only whether they are happy and make a contribution to society.

Drošība un stabilitāte
It's 2040, I feel safe in Europe, I can travel safely and it's safe to be in my own country, Life is so good because I don't have to worry about any riots or wars. Financial stability finally gives you the opportunity to live like a normal person, who doesn't have to live on potatoes for two weeks until the next salary, which will only be enough to pay the bills or feed the children.

tulevaisuuteni vuonna 2040
In 2040, I imagine that the world will have changed significantly. Technological advances have brought smart cities, using advanced intelligent systems to manage traffic. Cars will drive themselves, and public transport will be fast and environmentally friendly. Energy production is based entirely on renewable sources, such as solar and wind power, which has significantly reduced carbon emissions. People's lifestyles have also changed. Health care is more personalised and technology can be used to anticipate illness before it occurs. Food culture has diversified, with vegetarian diets becoming increasingly popular. Community is important and people are spending more time outdoors in nature, which has improved well-being. All in all, the future looks promising and I hope it will bring peace and sustainable development.

Junalla vaikka mihin
It would be another weekend ahead. We could visit Berlin again. Or maybe Munich. It's so convenient these days, though, to be able to get all over Europe on high-speed trains. In the past, you had to fly or spend hours on boats to get from one place to another. Now, with tunnels and bridges and high-speed railways and trains from Turku to Stockholm and Helsinki to Tallinn, you can get to central Europe and beyond in a few hours.
