Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine could be ended at the end of the 2020 years due to tough and long-standing negotiations. Most Ukrainian citizens returned to their home country. Many European states participated in the reconstruction of the heavily destroyed infrastructure in the former war zones, both financially and materially, as well as with many volunteers from all over the EU. Ukraine is now a full member of both NATO and the European Union. As a sign of the connection and belonging to the "old" Europe, a fast train line from Paris via Berlin and Warsaw to Kiev and further to Kharkiv and Donetsk will be planned and completed by 2050. Ukraine's dream of a united Europe has thus received a great boost. Thanks to the connections of the Ukrainian cities to the European high-speed rail network, the economy of Ukraine is thriving, the people there are almost (again) as good as in the rest of Europe.
