In a democratic country everything should work according to fair and balanced rules. If everyone had a stable job, and everyone paid taxes, the 'whole system would run more smoothly. If everyone would think about providing good service instead of getting rich quick, everyone would be better off.

By 2040, we will have solved the current energy crisis, and our fossil fuel dependence will be broken. Our use of nature is sustainable. The world's population growth has stopped, and the world's population is declining. However, life expectancy is increasing globally. I would like to see the UN take a leading role in the world, and to be able to put power behind its decisions. Now it is too toothless in conflicts. Given the current state of the world, I hope that Russia no longer poses a threat to anyone. That Ukraine has entered the EU and NATO, and that the people of the US elect leaders who behave like leaders and nothing else. If you want to be a world leader, you have to be one for the whole world and nothing else. But I probably won't be there, so I'll see how it goes.

I want to slowly wind down the last 10 years of my professional life and am happy to see that my children can do what they love so that they will be different from their parents in the future. We have managed to be financially independent and enjoy our lives. Our children are now old enough to lead their own lives and are no longer dependent on us. That's what I want!

The year 2040 will be a turning point in world history. Twenty years of concerted effort. As a result of these efforts, the polar icecaps have been observed to be refreezing. The Gulf Stream will continue to flow and keep the Nordic climate tolerable. Atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have fallen. Thanks to the combined efforts of Brazil and Asia, the rainforests have been allowed to grow and act as the lungs of the world. Alien species that have spread to new areas are returning to their original habitats. Wildfires in previous years have declined and tropical hurricanes have been fewer than in previous years. All this, now and in the years to come, has been made possible by the collective efforts of the world's peoples to build a shared world. A world that is only on loan. The insane frenzy to increase the production of all products has stopped and only the blood of what the earth's sustainable production capacity will allow is produced. Recycling is well underway in continents and countries where recycling had not been done before. The world's oceans, rivers and waterways have recovered from the massive amounts of plastic waste that have been sown into them, thanks to advanced technology and awareness of how to do the right thing for water bodies.
