My idea of the way transport will go is as follows, there will be links between all major cities and towns in order for people to get around our country easily and safely. It begins with the demise of motor vehicles as we now know them and a shift to Hover Craft type vehicles. These would be designed similar to a square box and would contain sofas, desk, TV monitors, essentially everything you need to work, relax, sleep, etc. the new concept car would be a hovercraft type but powered by a small Nuclear chip unique to the owner. To explain this, when we would be born in the future, this nuclear chip would replace all the account numbers, log in’s PPS number, it would be your new identity, this chip would be put into your brain and would run off your body temperature, a bit like the current Geo Thermal. Next to get around the place there would be Electronic Highways, a bit like the current Air Line system whereby a plane locks on to an invisible beam to go from Dublin to New York. So before you venture out you would lodge a type of Flight Plan, this pre books an open time slot on the invisible highway and off you go, you would use the Hover power to take you to the nearest Hover Hub and then slot in to your first destination and so on during the day, you could work, sleep, relax or whatever while this journey took place. There you’ll be no parking places needed as when you reach your journeys end you would get out and send the Hovercraft to park , on the vertical wall of your house or where ever. It should cut out all road accidents and deaths. I genuinely to see our transport system evolving into something like this. It’s not a fantasy.
