In 2040, I would like the world to live in peace and harmony, first of all. There should not be any hunger, poverty or epidemic, on the other hand. Social justice, law and order, and human development should be of utmost importance.
However, things like empathy, creativity, arts, communication, cultural enrichment are to be focused on, respected and developed.
Work should be paid fairly, talents - appreciated, intellect - acknowledged and encouraged further.
Family, friendship, support, help, mutual understanding might become the most important values in the future world society.
Maybe political system/s should be based on the principle of rotation, involvement, clarity, transparency, and morale.
All different cultures, including languages, (good) traditions/customs should be cherished and preserved.
Money and finance could be functioning only as a means of payment, purchasing, trade and necessary exchange, whereas all wrong uses be excluded.
Governments need to provide adequate housing, recreation facilities, transport system and infrstrtucture.

I have grown older. Together with my partner, I fulfilled my dream of building another house - after all, there was still room in the garden of the old house! It's not any smaller than the old house, but the layout is better. We have moved into the upper apartment - the office in the basement is no longer needed since we retired from work. It now serves as an apartment when children and grandchildren come to visit. Our neighborhood is constantly changing. Separations and deaths bring change. The houses don't stay empty for long. It is very popular to live in the village. People still look out for each other here and living together works. There are lots of activities for young and old, and most people are keen to get involved in voluntary work. All in all, it's a good place to grow older.

I would like to see threats of global warming has been taken seriously and measures to halt its progression is in full force. I would also like to see either IQ tests or common sense tests for people, in charge of government. I also hope religion not to have such a strong hold over weak minds.

German politics should be completely rethought, no more party coercion in the parliamentary groups and each party must vote on draft laws. The absence of party coercion means that every member of parliament can also vote in favor of a law of the other party, but also against bills of his party, so that no party would have to come to power alone or through a coalition and a freer democracy would be created.
