A lot has changed in the past 20 years. After the government finally started to be there for its citizens and the country, things started to pick up again. The economy has recovered. We now produce almost everything in our own country. We import less food because we use our land to produce food. Fruit and vegetables are now only available when they are in season.
Many people use solar to power their homes. There are many more electric cars on the roads. Cyclists and motorists are equal road users. The penalties for misbehavior on the road also apply to cyclists. There is no two-tier society in the healthcare system. You get an appointment promptly, regardless of which doctor you see. Medicines are always available because they are produced in the country. Education is being taken seriously again. There are enough schools and trained teachers who take care of children's education.

I would really like to see 2 improvements, changes. Firstly, i would really like for wars, aggression and violence to end. They don’t bring any good to any of us. History is repeating itself over and over again. All these horrible acts of violence are unnecessary, and it would only benefit the humanity if they stopped. The second thing is ecological wellbeing. It would be really amazing, if in these 15 years we could clean up at least a part of pollution that we(as humanity) have made. In that way we would be helping our planet and nature to regain it’s strength again and also making our surroundings cleaner, much more pleasant.

I would like us as the European Union to be representatives of a new mentality of living the world and with the world. Starting from taking responsibility against contemporary ethical and civic issues, overcoming utilitarianism and capitalist accumulation to give more importance to humanity and the natural world.

By 2040 we will finally be rid of fossil fuels, both homes and businesses can meet their energy needs themselves. In the past 15 years we have accomplished a lot in the field of sustainability. In addition, more trees have been planted and more places have been designated as places where nature can take its own course. Our food is becoming more local, and supermarkets are trying to stock with homegrown produce/groceries/fruit whenever possible. Children now get a standard healthy school lunch where sandwiches are not the most important part. Wars are over and our defense budget is lower in 2040 than it is today.

Wünsche für die Zukunft

I wish for more peace on earth and that there are no more wars. I would also like to see further development of healthcare, especially for rare diseases, and new/better treatment methods. There would also be initiatives to improve the environment and make life on Earth possible.
