I want a future where we plant more trees than we cut down, where we reverse the effects of ice storms and floods. I want a future where we don't accumulate waste electric cars and electric wind turbines. I want waste to be recovered and not piled on rubbish heaps. I want us not to be part of the great extinction of animal species that is taking place today. I want us to have zero emissions and not raise the temperature of the earth to the point of no return. Above all, I want the richest people in the world to be taxed at 100 per cent above the wealth threshold. And that these profits are invested back into nature. I want to see the preservation of native seeds and not of genetically modified species. I want less plastic and more sustainability. I want free healthcare, free salt and free water. I want a world without war and hunger. Without disease. No vaccines that change our genetics. No robots among us. No ai intelligences to threaten us.

Nel 2040 significa tra 15 anni, quando lo scrivente avrà l'età di 80 anni. La prima considerazione da fare è tra un'immaginazione forse un po' utopistica ed un'altra decisamente più realistica. Indubbiamente tra 15 anni la vita sarà molto diversa, dal momento che il mondo procede a velocità supersonica ma, almeno al mio punto di vista, questa progressione non è per nulla, o comunque non del tutto, positiva. Negli ultimi anni, purtroppo, le guerre stanno proliferando come funghi, e quindi la prima speranza per il futuro, cioè nel 2040, è che l'agitazione generalizzata possa rientrare in maniera decisiva. Un'altra considerazione, sulla quale non sono per niente fiducioso, è che la vita in genere possa, almeno in parte, rallentare la sua corsa, anche se mi sembra che la cosiddetta evoluzione tecnologica stia spingendo in una direzione assolutamente opposta. Dal punto di vista strettamente spero, se ci sarò ancora, di poter godere di una discreta salute.

Spero che ci sia meno burocrazia nello svolgimento di pratiche e snellire tutte le procedure relative a richieste di documenti, aiuti, ecc., spero ci siano meno tasse e piu' lavoro per i giovani e che ci sia la condivisione del bene comune che oggi manca nelle nostre istituzioni. sono anni che sento dai politici sempre le stesse parole, le stesse promesse ma nulla cambia.

1 January 2040 9am. I'm sitting on the terrace, it's snowing... A lot of snow. We have those real winters again. We took care of our land in time. Since we cut air traffic, our land has recovered. And since the wars stopped, the climate has improved. I am thinking about what I need to pack in my suitcase, I am going to the spa. Since we have a 3 to 1 ratio we are living very well. A director can have 3 times a worker's salary. And so my salary is decent too. I can also afford a few days of relaxation in a spa, a health resort. The children have their own flat. They built a lot of flats a few years ago. 60 square metres. Before that, they built luhsuzna huge flats, it was no use. 4 flats could be made out of one. Well, now that's sorted too. And if you need a doctor you get one immediately, there are no queues. I work 4 days a week and so I have time to tend to my garden. We are all trying to be self sufficient.
