2040 ? That would make me 86 years old. So that future should be based on the idea of my full health and also the full health of my loved ones and actually the whole family and the whole society. I expect that it should be in a time of peace and full prosperity of society. In 15 years, not much will change in peacetime in general, we will have new cars, hopefully still fossil fuel powered. In Ostrava the first metro line will be opened, in Brno they will still be arguing about where to build the main station. Josef Mužík's grandson will find the treasure of Štěchovice and get fabulously rich. Thanks to this, he will invest massively in the development of a cure for cancer and in 2040 this cure will be distributed worldwide. There will be more and more migrants from Germany who will be actively involved in society, have their own associations, their own political parties and slowly participate in government and governance. Politicians will continue to take credit for the development of society, environmentalists will continue to strut around and present us with plans for a beautiful green future. There will be regular discount promotions on over-the-counter light drugs in Alberta. Security and national defence will be provided by a volunteer force under the command of Mark Benda. Thieves will still steal in the same way, probably more sophisticated and with more use of politicians, that's just the way it is in the Czech Republic and it will still be normal in 2040...

I hope there is a world and a Europe left to live in then. That humanity understood that it must take care of nature, climate, earth, people that it understood the importance of cooperation and democracy. My kids found themselves and had a good life. I'm probably retired then. I hope that I have enough pension to cope with life and that I have the health to cope with myself.

My future is the future of my children and my grandchildren , it is joy , health and love . It is our country without feuds and disputes , an economically stable country . Poland with a healthy climate , healthy food and good health care . It is a country with secure borders , without homophobia and Nazis . A place that is safe for everyone , regardless of origin , religions or skin color . My future is people who are friendly and tolerant , who care about the wider environment , animals and those citizens who have failed in life. Thinking about the future I hope for an even more united and independent Europe , mutual respect of nations . It is a Europe without wars and conflicts . It is more colorful and joyful, leaders make joint decisions, all Europeans have equal rights and responsibilities, help each other and take care of each other. My loved ones are looking forward to traveling, getting to know other countries and nations. Grandchildren have their own homes, without taking out loans, work in line with their aspirations and happy families, and grandparents have a dignified old age without worries and can realize their hidden dreams.

I wake up and the first thing I hear is the gentle hum of my smart home, which has already adjusted to my day. The climate control has set the perfect temperature, my coffee is freshly brewed and my smart mirror shows me the news - without any sensationalist headlines or manipulated algorithms. Europe has changed. After decades of crises, people have returned to what really matters: Progress through technology, but without losing people. Energy is generated 100% sustainably thanks to huge solar farms in southern Europe and efficient fusion reactors. Artificial intelligence has revolutionized the job market, but instead of mass unemployment, there is an unconditional basic income - everyone can continue their education, research or be creative without fear of losing their livelihood. Cities are green, clean and virtually car-free. Public transportation is free, electric and so efficient that no one needs their own car anymore. The biggest change? Politics has become more transparent. Important decisions are made through citizen participation, direct democracy is a reality. After years of division, people have learned that they are stronger together. I take a deep breath, sip my coffee and enjoy the view of a world that is guided not by fear but by hope.

That people and countries can live in reasonable peace with each other. That climate development has become more normal with less consumption in all areas. That democratic laws and rules are dominant in most countries. That autocracies and dictators are overruled by their populations. That greater diversity in animals, plants and humans has returned. That we travel less, are more content in our immediate surroundings, help each other and get along. That more cancers can be cured or avoided. Orderliness in everyone, probably a little too naive.
