I hope and believe that health care has taken big steps forward. As body worn smart devices, such as a wristwatch or a ring, become increasingly available, I see opportunities for these devices to be in direct contact with healthcare providers. I think that in the near future we will see smart devices that can take, for example, blood samples and analyze these and discover that something is not right, then the unit contacts caregivers and data can be transferred between both parties and finally the owner of the device gets information about their consent and what may need to be corrected / adjusted. In this way, we can detect diseases at an early stage and then also hopefully be able to remedy them.

Fifteen years ago, most of the people of Europe were pessimistic about the environment and the looming climate catastrophe looked so real and imminent. But now in 2040, a glimmer of hope is emerging because the European nations got united and led the world in combating global warming. Now the waste management system has improved by leaps and bounds, recycling is a lot better, fossil fuels are replaced almost entirely by more sustainable alternatives, more trees are planted which resulted in more wildlife. These are the major improvements which the people of the world thought were impossible to make. Yet here we are enjoying a lot better climate which will only improve now that more people are united in making this planet more habitable for us and the future generations.

In 2040, Medicine will have developed so far that very basically a lot of diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, tumors, will be cured. Also, various genetic diseases will be eliminated completely. Moving with environmentally friendly means of transport will be accessible to all. Air transport will also be environmentally friendly.

We drive cars or fly small planes run by AI. We work six hours a day because artificial intelligence does the rest. Transplants are very simple because the organs are "derived" from our cells and there are no discards. We have watches that monitor our health and refer you to a doctor if necessary. Diagnoses are faster, because with the help of AI and therefore we live longer and in better condition. We have more time to rest and be with our loved ones.
