In 2040, I would like the future to be better in terms of inclusion and to live better together with people but also the planet. Progress is really useful to people without being a brake or a threat. I would like people no longer to be so divided about politics and society by remembering that we are all the same and that we are all human beings above all else. I would like minorities to be accepted and no longer discriminated against. I would like the disability to be better taken into account so that people are more helped in order to maintain at best in the semblance of normal life. I would like a better health system with really useful consultations of necessary length, reducing expectations and with diagnoses that arrive faster. Finally, I would like AI to be perfectly controlled and regulated so that they are no longer a threat regarding fake news or the hijacking of images that could only concern stars. I also want AI to be an ally, not a substitute for humans. It must also not make teaching obsolete and solve the problem that students do their homework with, by foolishly copying and learning nothing. Also, the planet is protected and progress does not encroach on it because we will have realized that it is also a matter of national security, health and that it is a cost not to protect it (natural disaster, insurance that increases and that no longer protects against these disasters).

This has inspired other regions in Asia and the Middle East to scale back aggressive behaviours, especially regarding disputed territories. Israel has relocated its citizens to new builds, and negotiations are being held to establish an independent Palestinian state. Hamas has become a political organisation and has renounced its militant ways. Israel has also started making amends to the Palestinian people, but this is a long and ongoing process. The US has become the old guard. It is still a place of dreams and technology, but after the economic crash of 2026, the American people are tired of the pursuit of more and more. The slow life is now the lifestyle trend.

Self sufficiently Green.

In 2040 all dwelling places are sold with a small growing space where people grow some if their own food. In addition all new apartments are linked to a communal growing space that has a polytunnel for growing tomatoes, courgettes, beans. In 2040 there is no more factory farming and most of the population are vegan. Animal welfare has become an important topic and people have realised that a plant based diet is the most healthy way to live. Membership of these food growing allotment spaces is free and as public transport is now free, there is no barrier to access them. Because of catastrophic climate events, people now realise the importance of food security and self sufficiency. They have voted for parties that promote green living and animal and planet care.
