I would like Europe to be independent in contrast to China India USA Russia, to be able to protect and defend itself and to have enough raw materials, to be able to live peacefully together where people can contribute and realize themselves, to be able to afford and build something. To be healthy and active in a better environment. There are enough jobs and an intact and affordable healthcare system.schools and education are better than they are now.

On 18 February 2050, I wake up from my nap and, as I do every day, I roll down the window to enjoy my morning tea. All is quiet, but there is a gentle flow of energy all around - no loud engines, no smog. In my city, which could once be described as crowded and noisy, green spaces and sustainable solutions now prevail.
Europe has changed radically in the last 25 years. The environmental crisis has become history, thanks to global initiatives that implemented a complete transition to renewable energy sources by the end of the 2020s. Major efforts have been made in all cities to restore the environment and in sustainable building projects. Transport has become clean and efficient - I drive an unmanned, electric car that produces nothing but quiet light and coolness as it passes through the city.
I also feel that between 2025 and 2050 there has been a fundamental shift in society. People have become more connected to nature, but at the same time the power of technological innovation has increased. Everything is more convenient, but we have not lost our connection with humanity and nature. One of the biggest changes that has taken place is the change in people's attitudes towards work and quality of life. Health has also become much more accessible and mental health is no longer stigmatised.
Europe is rich in different cultures and traditions, as in the past, but a new unity has emerged, where everyone is working together to improve our world for future generations. Today, we live as we once only dreamed of living.
Finally there is no more war, no more coercive rules from above, and there is a consensus among all people. We are 1 humanity, all in agreement that we must work together on our common future. Laws and rules are still in place and voted on by the people of each country. People have extensive communication and are able to look at life from different perspectives so that understanding and empathy can be had for each other.
Love and respect is the basis of our society. Helping others has become a way of life. Life is good, loving and enjoyable.
Näin eletään vuonna 2040
There is peace in the world. Climate change has been overcome. All people on Earth are equal. Everyone has a home and food. The world's income is distributed equally to all. Because all nations get food and housing, there is no more crime. Digitalization has ended in its own impossibility. Artificial intelligence is widely used in medicine and design. Epdemics and cancer are coming to an end. Medicine has evolved around the world. The population is naturally increasing. In Finland, too, three children are born to each mother and father. There's work for everyone because machines don't take care of everything. New technology has replaced cars and airplanes. With the power of thought, people can get to the place they want. Democracy works everywhere. The borders of the former states are really non-existent, which allows people to move around. Putin and Trump died in a plane crash while on their way to an agreement on peace in Ukraine. Volcanoes erupt, but their energy can be utilized. All of Finland is steadily populated. The climate in Finland is favorable everywhere in the country grows to need food, and trucks do not need to travel around the country. Trains are still in use, they carry people around the world for free.
Ateities Vilnius
2040, 10 September. Europe has become the most advanced climate neutrality region in the world. Cities have completely abandoned fossil fuels, and each building has its own energy production system based on solar, wind and kinetic energy.
Evelina, now an experienced scientist, works in a global climate innovation lab that develops AI-powered air purification mechanisms. The streets are green, overflowing with vertical gardens, and the vehicles - without any pollution. Waste of water and food has become a thing of the past, as bioengineering has developed the most effective processing methods.
Society has also changed - the working week has been reduced to four days, as robotisation and AI have allowed people more time for creativity and personal development. The education system has introduced holistic teaching, where everyone can learn at their own pace, and virtual universities connect people from all over the world.
Evelina looks at the centre of Vilnius, where people communicate in the squares, musicians play, and technology serves not as a separation, but as a tool of unity. "This is what the future should have been like," she thinks, as she watches the sun set over the green horizons of the city.
