From today's perspective, a utopia. A peaceful Europe in which everyone can be free, regardless of religion, origin, gender or sexual orientation. An environmentally conscious Europe, free from fossil and nuclear energy sources. An independent Europe that is not dependent on the world, free from capitalism and favoritism. A Europe in which community and togetherness is the highest good and everyone receives an equal, independent education.

It's all very well to dream of a better future when everything just keeps getting worse. But let's say it were possible. Such a world would see no more war. No more poverty. Pollution would be under control. And above all, people would be respectful of their neighbors.

It's 2040, the past 15 years have been terrible. Fascists and Nazis were at the head of Russia and the United States. They allied themselves to redraw the map of the world. Ukraine was looted and destroyed, divided Europe was attacked. Our policies thought only of their power and the divisions that led to the impoverishment of the population. A perverted clown elected as the head of the United States and his billionaire ally have ended all actions designed to protect our planet by cancelling all measures to protect the environment. Fortunately, when the sound of boots got too close, a burst of lucidity allowed Europe to reunite, our policies to finally take measures to fight against these men thirsting for power and money and the peoples to unite and work for the recovery of nations. In 2040, Europe, enlarged to include countries that had long aspired to integrate it, finally found its way to lasting peace. Of course there are differences between the different countries, but conflicts are settled by negotiation and not by weapons. The elect work for the people and not for themselves. Solidarity has regained its rightful place in society and the richest contribute to aid for the poorest, as they should have done for a long time, without jeopardizing jobs. It's 2040 and... I just woke up...

In 2050, the world awoke to a new tomorrow. The cities had turned green, with vertical gardens and solar panels adorning every nook and cranny. The air was fresh, pollution-free, thanks to groundbreaking technologies developed over the past 25 years. Looking back at 2025, this was the turning point. Global climate treaties have finally been taken seriously, and massive investments in renewable energy have led to an unprecedented drop in CO2 emissions. Breakthroughs in medicine had made it possible to cure many diseases, and people lived longer and healthier lives. Artificial intelligence had brought about an all-encompassing change in the world of work. Routine tasks were taken over by machines, while people devoted themselves to creative and social professions. Education was accessible individually and for life, supported by immersive, virtual learning environments. One day in 2050 thus reflected the fruits of vision and determination that had shaped the last decades.
