I would like Europe to join forces more so that it forms a strong force to other continents. Right now we are still strong enough to keep america and china out through regulation. But there will come a time when the tech giants will "shit" on that. To form a good bloc, countries need to cooperate more, not just fantasize and invent rules. Above all, it has to be done. Encourage business. Right now there are no big startups coming out of Europe. This has to change. In 2040, I hope we are on the right track.

In the year 2040, I hope above all that there will be peace all over the world and that we will act together for the benefit of humanity and nature and that all people and nations on earth will live together in peace and that there will be prosperity for all and that there will be as few armed conflicts as possible but that everyone will act together in diplomacy and wisdom. There will be no more internal combustion engines, only modern cars that move around with a kind of modern drive technology that works without internal combustion engines. In 2040, a lot of work will be done from home because it will no longer be necessary to go to work; instead, people will be able to do all the essential things from home and then spend the day with their families. In 2040, many things will be automated thanks to AI technology, which will have replaced the majority of human work by then so that people can devote themselves to their hobbies or other private wishes. Everyday life will be characterized above all by AI, but in the end humans will still be in control, checking and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. In the year 2040, mankind has succeeded in pushing back climate change as far as possible, partly due to the use of new AI technologies and, of course, with the help of modern protection systems, which above all protect natural landscapes and the oceans. There is absolutely no more plastic - everything is transported in special containers made of plant fibers or wood, for example, or eaten and drunk from them. There are also no more books, everything takes place in the digital world, so that paper can also be saved. More fruit and vegetables are grown and eaten and less meat. In the care sector, there are now modern home robots that support people in caring for the elderly throughout the day. In addition, cars no longer drive on the road below but move in the air above and fly around like spaceships. Mankind has also recognized the danger of nuclear weapons and has already begun to scrap all nuclear weapons on earth. In 2040, there will therefore only be a small number of nuclear weapons left, but they will no longer be used. The oceans are now plastic-free again and there are enough fish in the sea again. In addition, all harmful chemicals that damage or pollute the environment are now banned all over the world. Women now have the same rights as men, earn just as much as men and hold high-ranking positions in business, politics and society. In medicine, too, it has been possible to treat and eliminate all diseases through the use of state-of-the-art AI technology. And as mentioned earlier, wars will no longer be fought in the future, i.e. in 2040, but conflicts will be resolved politically through diplomacy. In 2040, the climate has largely recovered and temperatures are reasonably pleasant and bearable.

Since retirement age is approaching inexorably (if not extended), I travel to 2040 knowing that I will already be in a well-deserved rest. I would very much like to believe that old age in our country will be dignified, that in the remaining fifteen years we will reach a level that does not need to think about whether it will be enough for food and medicine to pay taxes. And when we go to a well-deserved rest, we would like to devote more time to culture, hobbies, new first times. I believe that the Lithuanian government will find ways to raise wages not only for itself, but also to correctly assess the time, strength and health that we have given to Lithuania. I hope that health care will also respond to a person here and now, doctors will get a decent salary so that they do not have to look for a job abroad, that we will get help here and now, not in half a year, or we will leave without getting anapilin, because there is a shortage of doctors and a huge queue, doctors work privately, and many have nothing to pay for, even though they have paid insurance premiums for their whole lives.

January 1, 2040 is a day I will always remember. Together with other young people from each of the EU member states, I had been selected to travel from Kiruna in Sweden to the ISS, the International Space Station. It had expanded considerably over the last decade. Arriving at the ISS, we had to go through the first part of the UN Youth Programme UNITY (United Nations International Training Years). The five best of us would land on the moon! I didn't sleep all week after I got that message.
