It's 2040, and aviation is finally reserved for business trips for which video conferencing contacts are insufficient. For private travel, each family can fly once every 4 years. Cruise ships have been banned since 2035. A universal income has been introduced, funded by corporate profits: anything in excess of 2% of ÇA in profits is redistributed. Executive salaries are limited to €15,000 and dividends to the same amount.

In this future, we all have a four-day week or less. For the same salary and with the same efficiency, we only work three or four days, half of them in the office and half in the home office. We have more time for volunteering, raising children, continuing education, political engagement or just hobbies and sports.

I hope that by 2040 new forms of energy supply will have taken hold. That nuclear fusion reactors in the Netherlands will ensure that there is power in abundance, bringing the prices of energy down considerably. As a result, the prices of electric cars, appliances and household use will also hopefully go down and technology can make a big step forward. Smart homes are everywhere and there are hardly any CO2 emissions.

A life where there is no smoothness, no rhythm, no outlet for pain, living abandoned, without creatures, with clean air and water. The Earth's plague has one predecessor, order and peace reign, and the penalties are draconian for breaking any law. Access is by air, and by public transport, but there are no cars.
