In my future Basic Income is universal. On top of that people have hobbies, many of which add to their income because an easy to use universal pay system is in place and everybody has access to publicity on the net. Enterprise thrives, as it drives innovation and progress, and many people actually choose to work.

The world is led by people who are actually Competent and Honest, and therefore we don't need undue spying of citizens or coercive practices by the government. Family, education, and community are important to everyone, and leadership actively supporting them. Influx of "refugees" has ended. Open discourse, even on difficult subjects is encouraged, people don't have to agree with a Single Truth. Public transport works well, and driverless taxis are cheap and ubiquitous.

China is the world's largest economy, yet poses no military threat because they recognize that a well-governed, stable nation is better than an overstretched empire in turmoil.
