I will be 64 in 2040. If I avoid serious cancer or traffic accident. I would probably value most peaceful coexistence on our planet with a sort of planetary system of governence, most probably based on regional blocks with the EU playing such a role. I would like all kids at school from the age of 10 to have an important curruculum of cross-cultural and civilizational knowledge. We do not have to speak Chinese to understand the key notions of this continent-country. Same for sub-Saharan Africa. I have been triggered by ''Connectography'' by Parag Khanna were he shows the density of communication within and between key planetary networks. I would like to be able to watch a planetary debate about the distribution of CO2 rights, not with 196 countries but by 8-10 regional representatives. There should be a State of the Planet yearly debate (maybe on the Earth Day). We need to recognise our planetary responsibility while not erasing our cultural/ philosophical differences.
Being 64 I would like to be part of discussion with younger and older people about the global curriculum for schools, where different people come and describe their walks of life and jointly discuss avenues for solutions.
