I don't know because I'm 68. In 15 years, I may not be around to know whether 2040 will be the future. Let's remain optimistic, but in 2040, at 83, my life is behind me. I'm thinking of my son, his family and, above all, my grandchildren. Will France still be a democracy? Has the Great Replacement begun? Has war devastated Europe? No, none of this: people have mellowed, our leaders have found solutions for a peaceful world, the ecological revolution is beginning to bear fruit, and the world is calmer and more serene. My grandchildren are flourishing in their work and in their lives. Their future looks bright.

It's 2040. The forests of South America have expanded in size and what was destroyed 16 years ago has been restored. The lungs of our country are breathing again. Indigenous tribes, including a diversity of animals, persist and expand their families. Air and water quality is available to almost everyone, and drought is gradually disappearing. Deforested areas would be reforested, the oceans would be cleaned of plastic waste and biodiversity would increase by protecting endangered species. Cities would be full of greenery - vertical gardens on buildings, parks on every corner and urban farms would be a way of life.
