I don't know because I'm 68. In 15 years, I may not be around to know whether 2040 will be the future. Let's remain optimistic, but in 2040, at 83, my life is behind me. We will no longer be in the EU.

In 2040, Europe is sustainable and technologically advanced. Cities are green, transport is environmentally friendly and energy comes from renewable sources. Healthcare transcends disease thanks to advanced diagnostics. People work less thanks to automation and have more time for family, education and meaning.
