2040 metus pasitinkame klausydami mūsų Eurpos Sąjungos prezidento sveikinimo kalbos. Kalboje prisimenama, kaip augo Europos Sąjungos, kaip atsvaros kitoms demokrtinėsm ir autokratinėms valstybėms ir kokia galinga jėga tapo ES, kuomet dar 2025 metais šalys sutarė paaukoti dalį savo suvereniteto, perduodant svarbiausius valdymo įrankius ES, kurą galėtume pavadinti Europos Federacija. Nebeliko susipriešinimo, prieštaravimų ir begalinių diskusijų sprendžiant svarbiausius savo piliečių klausimus ekonomikos, finansų, švietimo, gynybos, diplomatijos ar kitais klausimais. ES susistemino verybes, kuriomis vadovaujasi kiekvena šalis savo autonimijos ribose. Dirbant bendrai mes pasiekėme neįtikėtinų rezultatų mokslo srityje, kas leido ženkliai pakelti bendrą vidaus produktą tiek visos federacijos mastu, tiek ir kiekvienos narės atskirai. Mūsų visų kultūrinis gyvenimas tapo turiningesnis, įvairesnis ir brandesnis. Šiais, 2040 metais ES iškėlė naują tikslą išplėsti savo kosmoso įsisavinimo programą ir pasiekti proveržį kolonizuojant tinkamas, tačiau negyvenamas planetas...
Ne visi ES gyventojai toliau klausėsi sveikinim kalbos, tačiau absoliuti dauguma džiaugėsi ir didžiavosi gamiybe gyventi draugiškiausioje demokratinėje (be ironijos) federacijoje.

People will travel in self-driving vehicles powered by renewable energy. Artificial intelligence will support everyday life, from work to leisure. Virtual reality will make it possible to visit faraway places without leaving home. In this future, everyone will have access to education and healthcare, which will significantly improve the quality of life. People will be more creative and engaged as they will have more time for personal projects and community activities. The future will not only be technologically advanced, but also more human and empathetic.
