The topics that I see as encompassing a lot of aspects of our life are communication and transparency. I think whether we are journalists or not, people in my country have lost the ability to communicate properly on heated topics - from climate change, the pandemic, Russia's invasion of Ukraine and etc. Discussion has become ever more difficult because of many reasons but some key ones include 1) people heavily mistaking opinions for facts; 2) people being unaware of how strong disinformation is and what are its goals 3) lack of empathy and the desire to listen, not only to express your own viewpoint and try to convince the others. Hence, whether we talk about the state of democracy, media freedom, environmental protection and how we imagine them to be better in 2040, I think an improved information space is vital to that.

2025 was the year when the energy transition began. Before that, energy was produced from fossil fuel, a highly flammable material that produced a great deal of heat that was used to move power generators. Even before fuel, coal was used, which in those days produced just the right amount of energy for the machines of the day. With subsequent industrial revolutions, coal had become insufficient for the energy these new machines needed, so oil took over. In the social sphere, there will likely be a change in the definition of work, with many traditional professions disappearing, while new ones, related to technology and sustainability, will emerge. I also expect a growing concern for the environment and significant progress in renewable energy, reducing our dependence on nonrenewable resources. It will be a more connected world, but also one that is more aware of global challenges.

The year 2040 has come.Peace everywhere.All states tolerate each other.All the planet is at peace and understanding.One state helps another in times of some difficulties - in times of famine, floods, diseases. There are enough doctors in the Czech Republic.Dentists are paid by the state, so we don't have to pay millions for teeth.And there are enough of them in all regions.Everyone has a doctor and they don't have to be without teeth for a year because they don't have the means. In schools we have to honor the elderly,have respect for the young and the old. The state is judged by its behaviour towards children and old people. And now the old people are unnecessary , and the children do not participate in respect and understanding. And also there will be plenty of cheap housing and electricity.

In the future, mobility across Europe will be easy and ecological, while also taking into account rational pricing. This will allow people to have a wider experience across Europe and a better understanding of different cultures, which will support diversity and understanding of other people and diversity. Europe is joining forces to be greener, making Europe the most ecological continent. This will require a commitment from all countries and the development of science in a more ecological direction. Living conditions have improved everywhere and people are living well. Easy mobility also means that people have better opportunities to move around Europe for work and life.
