Slow mobility and green cities

This image was generated with Dream Studio AI.

There wouldn't be any cars in cities: only public transports and light transport means as bikes and scooters. With no need for car parking, there will be more spaces transformed in parks and gardens. With no need for large routes, all streets will be more green with trees and plant or vegetables containers. With less pollution, we will be able to eat fruits and aromatic plants grown in our own neighborhood. As teleworking will be the norm for some businesses, we will also be able to work from abroad time to time and this way enjoying longer stays and a slower way of travel. Using train will again be the norm; air plane will be limited to business and urgencies.

By 2040, everyone will live in peace with each other. People are finally coming to the realization that they have got the brain that sets them apart from most other animals. They behave accordingly and live peacefully with each other. The imperialists at the top of society have been driven out and replaced by people who have the best interests of humanity and the planet.

You ask us to tell you about a day in 2040 when it's hard to look over a week. What can be imagined of the near future, projecting the current state of things? It's really complicated. I can hope that there will be a more compact European Community and that it will be less and less influenced by the United States. I can hope that Israel will be better off than it is now acting with atrocious violence against the Palestinians. Hope. Two thoughts on all, with certainty it will not be so. I see a catastrophic future and fear for my children.

I would like the future to be more restful than the period we are currently living in. I would like humanity to be more respectful of its environment but also of people. By 2040, all people would be aware of the environment. Degrowth would have started, but it would have had a positive impact on everyone. More consumption to excess, everyone would consume what is available in his country or close environment geographically.

It's 2040. Artificial intelligence, which has been properly regulated and implemented so that it really serves humanity, helps us in many aspects of life. However, it is prohibited in several areas, such as art and culture. its participation is allowed but only as a component part of a given work or cultural product. All people receive dividends from what is produced in the automation process. No one has to work to survive, because dividend money is enough for all basic needs and even more, but most people still work because it gives their lives meaning and raises their social status. Money, however, is no longer the main driver of action, it is precisely the status acquired by contributing to society. Humanity flew to Mars and further plans are underway to conquer space. Many new sources of energy have been discovered, so that coal is no longer an attractive raw material at all. Life expectancy has increased significantly and is increasing by several years each year, so everyone agrees that the prospect of colonizing other planets will become a necessity sooner rather than later.
