I want to see a future where there is a more stable democratic geopolitical situation than today. The current situation in Europe and the world feels very volatile and much more unsafe than then I was younger and seems to be highly driven be extreme-right party political perspectives and people in power that tends to want a future that is more like the past - focusing on power of the past rather than technological progress and focusing on a future where we can live on our own planet. In 2040 I see Europe with a higher line of borders towards Russia and with a slowly healing relationship with the U.S. after large trust issue that has risen over many years from a U.S. goverment recovering from the current reshaping to past values. I see a European economy on a rise after years with an unstable situation. I also see much struggle and migration of people based on the increasing severity of climate changes that have only gotten worse over the past decades and a northern Europe struggling to get ready for the apparent future with colder weather due to the failing of the golf stream.

I have grown older. Together with my partner, I fulfilled my dream of building another house - after all, there was still room in the garden of the old house! It's not any smaller than the old house, but the layout is better. We have moved into the upper apartment - the office in the basement is no longer needed since we retired from work. It now serves as an apartment when children and grandchildren come to visit. Our neighborhood is constantly changing. Separations and deaths bring change. The houses don't stay empty for long. It is very popular to live in the village. People still look out for each other here and living together works. There are lots of activities for young and old, and most people are keen to get involved in voluntary work. All in all, it's a good place to grow older.

I would like to see threats of global warming has been taken seriously and measures to halt its progression is in full force. I would also like to see either IQ tests or common sense tests for people, in charge of government. I also hope religion not to have such a strong hold over weak minds.

German politics should be completely rethought, no more party coercion in the parliamentary groups and each party must vote on draft laws.
