In 2040, many of the most innovative breakthroughs being developed to contribute to sustainability, productivity and quality of life involve the synergistic combination of knowledge related to biology, science and technology. One of the biggest breakthroughs that has been achieved is Bioelectromagnetic Design – the customised design of the electromagnetic characteristics of environments and technologies to enhance wellbeing and biological functioning.

Interest in Bioelectromagnetic Design had initially arisen in popularity, and necessity, as a result of many in the insurance industry refusing to cover health issues related to electromagnetic pollution, the growing incidences of Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity in many of the world’s populations, and a number of enlightened health agencies advocating the adoption of stronger protective guidelines.

It received a further boost when entrepreneurs recognised that if they took into account the suggestions of ‘early warning’ scientists when designing technologies and products, the risks they faced were reduced and their opportunities for disruptive innovation increased. The growing interest and efficacy of electromedicine further increased the appeal of such tactics, and by 2035 such approaches had become mainstream with the creation of more bioelectromagnetically healthy environments and technologies becoming the choice of the masses.

The knowledge that we can work in closer harmony with nature through having a better understanding of the biological effects of the electromagnetic spectrum, and can use that to our advantage and the advantage of the planet itself in its extended recovery period, is been a real blessing.

People are more protective of nature and its resources, everything that is used is recycled. All countries adhere to the principles of sustainability. No one fights for religious or political reasons. Even those who earn the least or are socially disadvantaged may not think or spend money on medicines or food.

I would like to live in a world where everyone can AGREE and appreciate the beauty of all things. It could also be a vision of the future that we can simply press a button for everything: paying invoices, obtaining information, arranging business, making contacts, ... But there should also be something very personal such as good food and drinks, being able to travel, enjoying culture and nature, being together without fears... A nice picture, but it will stay with an image, I think, that lives in the current 2025.

The future belongs to all of us, and I believe it is time for us to imagine a positive and inclusive future. Let's think about 2040 and how we can create a better world for ourselves, our children and future generations. I chose a specific topic that is important to me: the environment and climate. I want to imagine that by 2040, a powerful transition towards a more sustainable and green society has been created. The green transition In 2040, Europe is a leading example of how to live in harmony with nature. Plant pollution has been dramatically reduced, the air is clean and lakes are full of life. Clean energy: all electricity generation has switched to renewable energy, such as wind, solar and hydro power. The climate has stabilized, and temperatures have returned to a natural fluctuation. Efficiency: Buildings and products are designed to be energy efficient, minimizing resources and creating less waste. This has led to an 80% reduction in carbon emissions. Biodiversity: Nature reserves are protected from exploitation, and the landscape is rebuilt with vegetation that supports ecosystems. Wild species have returned, and agricultural lands are more diversified to promote biodiversity. Circular economy: the life cycle of every product is designed for reuse, recycling or degradation. This transition has reduced waste production by 90%. Climate anxiety-free: Using technologies that can absorb and store carbon, Europe is climate anxiety-free. An inclusive future The green transition has also led to a more inclusive society. No individuals or groups are discriminated against because of their socio-economic background. Economy: Equality and economic security have been achieved thanks to an increase in jobs and education, including for people with disabilities. Social cohesion: Communities in Europe have been re-established through local initiatives and grassroots projects that promote social participation and community building. How can we create this better future? It is not difficult to imagine a positive future. But making it a reality requires collective commitment and a willingness to tackle the challenges we face. Prioritize environmental and climate policies: It is time to act faster and stronger to reduce carbon emissions, protect natural systems and promote the circular economy. Include everyone: We must address socio-economic and social challenges by strengthening equality, economic security and social cohesion. Together, let's create a better world for our future. The future belongs to all of us, and we can build it the way we want.

I think of the future of 2040 as a phase of life full of achievements by science, especially with the defeat of the worst diseases, including cancers, the lengthening of people's lives and the improvement of people's well-being. One hope is also to see a significant decrease in world hunger and peace among all peoples of the earth. The effort produced by peoples to counter climate change will improve the condition of our earth. Cars, no longer polluting, will travel on their own without human help.
