The future of Multiple Sclerosis

This image was generated with Dream Studio AI.

We are in 2040. Time goes by so quickly. I have had Multiple Sclerosis since 2021. This year I'm turning 47 years old and the image of a patient with MS in a wheelchair is related to the past. Luckily, it's not our present or future anymore. I still receive my medication every six weeks but I am grateful because I am healthy and the illness doesn't command life. It's just another part of it. Thanks of all the investment of the last years - Next Generation grants helped - the course of many illness has changed, like the quality of life of its patients. In addition, a new vaccine for the Epstein Barr Virus has been released. It’s one of the causes of MS, so this vaccine is supposed to reduce the incidence of MS in the world. The future ahead is even more encouraging.

In these years , from 2025 to 2040 I imagine that scientific research has definitively discovered how to heal people from cancer and certain genetic diseases. I would like euthanasia to be legal and for people who come to the end of their lives and want to worthily end their existence, they can choose to do it quickly with a simple pill for example.

In a democratic country everything should work according to fair and balanced rules. If we all had stable jobs, and everyone paid taxes, the whole system would run more smoothly. If everyone thought of providing a good service instead of getting rich quickly, it would be better for everyone.
