It’s 2040, AGI to most jobs and climate change destroyed a large part of the world. There is a huge income gap, poverty increased significantly due to people losing their jobs because of AI. Also, thanks to climate change, nature is very weak which results in difficulty to key crops grow.

A Day in the Europe of the Future - Year 2040 The sun rises over a green city where tall trees line the streets and solar panels cover the roofs of both old and new buildings. I step out the door and see that the sidewalk is filled with people and dogs, all on their way to today's adventure. By 2040, Europe is a place where nature and technology work together to create a sustainable and harmonious world. Since 2025, major changes have taken place. Fossil fuels are almost completely gone, and means of transport are powered by renewable energy. Smart bike paths and electric trains have made it easy to travel between countries, and I can cycle smoothly from Uddebo to Denmark without having to worry about dangerous car roads. Windbreaks and small eco-buildings can be found along the way for travelling outdoor enthusiasts and their four-legged friends. Dog ownership has also changed. Thanks to better training and accessible training, dogs are now welcome in more places, and public spaces are adapted for both humans and animals. The dog care profession has become an established and respected profession, and I work to educate both dogs and their owners to create better relationships and understanding. In this future, we have taken care of our planet, our animals and each other. Life feels freer, simpler and more sustainable – just like I always dreamed of.

We have managed to create an interaction between our eco system, so the wind turbines create the backdrop in our part of the world and our air is clean - we collect and recycle our waste for the benefit of our children. We live and have respect for other people, regardless of faith, color or background. We live this respect and do not accept anyone breaking these basic rules for each other. Crimes will not be accepted.

I'm imagining cities with lots of vegetation, all buildings with plant-covered beds and roofs, car-free cities, solar-only energy, the quarter-hour city, telecommuting for office functions to limit transport, forests expanded by more than 30% compared to 2025.
