There's no much more one could want in life that what my grandparents had. After running away from the Europe of the World War II to a South American country, they rebuilt their lives and had a family. Modest but steady job in a simple life with plenty of children, which were able to become professionals, buy houses, marry and have children. In 2040 I'd be more or less the same age they were in the 80s. If 2040 is any closer to 1980 than nowadays, certainly life would be better.

The future would be colourful and varied, with respect, empathy and communication being the main themes in society. The environment would not be filled with competition, beauty and perfection, but with the individuality of the individual. There would be a shift from materialism to minimalism, people would be accepted as they are. Society would want to address the ecological crisis head-on.
